I hear you Aditi!👍🏼 I too share the same sentiment to some extent I did feel that Radhagupta was the trigger behind Ashok's brazenness demanding for the throne. RG does surely lack the wisdom & foresight of Acharya Chanakya but he somehow judged the situation at hand at that particular moment & he could not bear to leave it to circumstances waiting to favour Ashok's ascend to the throne especially after he's borne witness to Bindhusar's indecisiveness & the constant evil manupilitative tactics for want of political power by Sushim & his evil allies. So RG's lack of maturity coupled with Ashok's naive understanding of political affairs on a larger scale were bound from the beginning to be opposed by powerful forces governed by evil minded people like Helena, Sushim,Charu & Kalnatak.
... & now of course from the numerous trials & tribulations Ashok had to go through, the worst case scenario of Karwaki leaving his side would be too much a pain to bear on the emotional level...quite a 'Devadasi' track seems to be on the take in the days to come...but I'm just hoping that Ashok would emerge as a strong and confident in the matter of heart at least & claim what is right for the future entailing both himself & Karwaki!😒
