Sushim and his focus !!!

Sushim has never die attitude...had he focused on his own life rather than running after ashok or siyamak this position would have much better.His ego has caused him soo many problems instead of facing them he keep blaming others for it.

Exactly!.Charumitra is a smart woman who is hindered by her circumstances, gender and birth from being on the throne. So she channeled all her frustrations and hopes on Sushim. He'd have made a decent governor,architect ,musician...anything else. But his mother had brainwashed him from birth and made him believe that "If you cannot be Samrat, your life is worth nothing." That's what led to the temper tantrum and psychotic behaviour during Ashok's coronation as Yuvaraj.

Plus his father is busy with the affairs of the state and doesn't spend enough time with him even though the former loves him.Bindusar wasn't around enough to counteract Charu's training.But Sushim comes by his arrogance naturally, no use putting all the blame on Charu.

Justin on the other hand did not want the throne but could not convince his ambitious mother of the fact.Hers was the dominant personality and subsumed his personality and convinced him that she was doing everything for him.Helena convinced him that he owed it to her to fall in line with her wishes since she sacrificed so much for him.He had gone along with her wishes every time but she turned a deaf year to all his protests. And unlike Sushim he loved Bindusar (at least until the latter married Noor).

I totally agree. It's not by showing anger and being greedy that he can win his father and people's heart.
