Obviously Helena and co succeeded in brainwashing him.It's so easy and they have done it before.They almost succeeded in getting Bindu to hang Ashok for attacking Sushim.Bindu as I have said before is like a leaf in the wind.Depending on the direction of the wind he changes his decision.Last week he announced Sushim as his uttaradhikari, today it was Ashok's turn, tomorrow it might well be Siamek or Drupad's turn. True that. Even Radhagupt mentioned that Bindu is a little too generous and that's why everyone takes advantage of him. Bindu is like a confused child. Can't stick to his decisions properly!

I agree with you guys. According to history Bindusar & Ashok never enjoyed good relation. But in the show they are showing Bindusar loves Ashok, & he was willing to make Dharma's son as his heir apparent even before he knew that Dharma was alive & that he has a son from her. In yesterday's episode even before Ashok requested that he be declared Heir Apparent Binduar was thinking to do so & he even said to Sushim that he would like to think about his decision so that he can change it. So some thing has happend in between. Lets see how they show it.

According to history, After Bindusar's death there will be a war of succession among the princes & Ashok eliminates all his brothers except his last brother Twitashok, & captures the Throne.

In the show Bindusar and Ashok shares a warmer relationship than they had in real life. In fact Ashok was never coronated as the Uttaradhikari. Sushim and his mother never plotted against Bindusar. So many anomalies. But I'm willing to forgive now that the show is getting better after the horrible Taxilla chapter.

You guys are absolutely right. I'm waiting to see Ashoka kill all his half brothers!
