Sushim asks Ahankara why she is unhappy he says she is happy he asks her to put his slippers on. One bird comes and she smiles Sushim observes it and says he will bring it to her she says no and Sushim brings it to her saying he will decide what she wants. Sushim ill treats Ahankara and makes her sit on the horse and takes her . Dharma watches and Ashoke feels sad and she tells him to be within limits and Ashoke gives his oath not to go beyond the limits of honor. Sushim ties Ahankara to a tree and tries to put an arrow on her she pleads and just then a tiger attacks them Sushim looks away from there and does not try to save her. And as the tiger jumps on her a knife comes and kills the tiger and Sushim smiles.A man is observing all this.

Ashoke watches and sees some blood and finds her bloodied and he feels bad and remembers his promise to his mother and her and then he goes and gives her some medicine and asks whether he should get the Vaidya of his brother and she is about to put medicine she shouts and he carries her and puts her on the bed and helps her with the medicine. She is groaning in pain and when Ashoke asks what happened she hides saying she went to the forest and a wild animal hurt her. Charumitra watches them and goes to find Sushim sleeping she goes out and finds Dharma.Charumitra takes Dharma to show Ahankara lying on the bed and she says Ashoke is putting medicine on her.
