I agree with u and that was the reason why I even quit watching the show though I had been eagerly waiting for it. Ashoka is one of my all time fav historical character and I love young Siddharth Nigam as an actor too. I would even say he was the best thing in D3 which was probably the worst movie I ever saw 😆 He is doing a fab job as an actor, no doubt about that. But we all know the basic history surrounding Ashoka. Ashoka wasn the typical good guy they are portraying him to be right now. Agreed he murdered his step brothers in cold blood to avenge his mother's death but what about the countless innocents he killed later on in pursuit of his ambition? What sense does it even make to show him to be an idealist? He is grey shaded character 😵 but nothing of that sort is being shown and neither are they laying a foundation for Ashoka's actions in the future. That is the only reason I am interested to see the story of a grown up Ashoka. It has nothing to do with Siddharth Nigam who is one of the most talented child artists in the country right now.

Ashok was not a bad character. Agreed he murdered his step brothers but the brothers weren't saint after all... we all saw how bad is Sushim's nature, kidnapping, torturing and killing innocent kids, he deserves to be killed... basically all his brothers were bad and he had to kill them.
Ashok was the one who gave good governance and thought for the benefit of his people.
And about killing people in wars, every king does that, he did that to expand his empire and there is nothing in it and if wars happnen then people will get killed.
Atleast he had a heart change after the Kalinga war, which most people dont have... they go on celebrating the win but Ashok didn't.

I agree he was driven by vengeance to kill his step brothers and yes, they were no saints like u rightly said but about the war he literally massacred and yes he did have a change in heart too. But the way Ashoka is being shown now, do u really think this guy will grow up to be an emperor who will not think twice before destroying kingdoms along with its innocent people in his pursuit for power? I am not saying Ashoka was born evil but there are many sides to him which the CVs are not capturing and just coz the child artist clicks they will drag the childhood phase unnecessarily and then when the main part comes due to lack of TRPs they will hurry it when they were the parts that needed detail story telling. I'd rather that these shows were finite series where all the phases were covered well and we get to enjoy and remember the show as well made rather than a drag fest.

actually in this show there is neither history nor any fact ,first of all Ashoka not a bad person as buddhism literature created at the same time he was not a mahan as CASs build up...first contilole should make history show rather then historical fiction,i know certain things should be fictionalize for the sake of show but what is the use of giving a history show with so much fiction i dont understand what is the need of epic love story b/t dharma and bindusara ...oh god first they should learn history then they should make show.even 5th std school kids known better history the creatives

what nonsense! r we justifying murders ! how can u say all brothers were bad , even if they were bad , they deserved to be killed ? 😲 shocking!

it was a political conflict , all that happened makes sense from political point of view. that does not give us any right to pass judgement on those who were not on the winning side , we never heard their side of the story, from their point of view

i mean we all somewhere admire samrat ashok for the way he established akhand bharat, there was no one like him , but to convey this simple point one need not whitewash his character.
