Coming to the actual numbers, in its eighth week 'Chak De! India' obtained around 2 crores and the eight week all-India total is 62.50 crores (nett) and the movie goes past the 62 crore total of 'Partner'.

More on Om Shanti Om vs Sanwariya

Publicity wars hot up before release.

Monday, October 8, 2007: (Mumbai):

It promises to be the biggest box office battles of all times.

There's still a month left for Diwali and for Om Shanti Om and Saawariya to release. But if you thought there was just a week or so left who could blame you, looking at the publicity blitz.

What's even more interesting is that, separate though both style and story are, the marketing tricks have consistently paralleled each other.

Both have an actor- or two making their much-hyped debuts. Both have directors with muscle and mega hits to their credit. And ironically both have been marketing their films on similar platforms.

If Neetu and Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir and Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam made a special appearence on TV reality show Amul Voice of India, then there were the Om Shanti Om stars on rival show Sa re ga ma pa.

On Tuesday King Khan and his costars will walk the ramp for an OSO inspired line of clothes. Think that's a first? Well no, Ranbir and Sonam already launched a line of Saawariya styled merchandise over the weekend.

So what can we expect over the next month? Most likely more of the same.

The distributors Eros for Om Shanti Om and Sony films for Sanwariya are keeping a close eye on the domestic and worldwide box-office and will no doubt be trying to outdo the other in the number of prints they release.

Initial figures reveal that more than 120 prints per film will be released in Delhi and UP alone. Pan India's figures are anybody's guess.

The interesting irony though is that, trade analysts predict a 100 per cent opening for both with or without the incessant hype.

Promotional wars have seldom been this close, and with the finish line in sight its safe to say there'll be little shanti

yaar we'll have party but yaar i have kind of bad news i am moving to our new house on 26 oct so don't know how long will it take to have internet & how long will it take to install the dish really worried

Top Ten albums of the week

1	1	Om Shanti Om	Even though 'Main Agar Kahoon' has been dominating the music channels in the week gone by, all eyes are now set on 'Deewangee' which would be premiered this 'Id'. Watch out for this track which is expected to consolidate the supremacy of 'Om Shanti Om' at the top of the charts.	None.
2	2	Saawariya	After the title song, 'Mashallah' is the second track from 'Saawariya' to have won a music lover's heart. The album is giving a tough fight to 'Om Shanti Om' in it's rendezvous to hit the top spot.	Beyond 3-4 songs, rest of the album isn't the kind which one can hum around on a walk
3	3	Bhool Bhulaiyaa	'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' has stayed consistent at #3 and is getting good recognition for it's worth. One of the most popular albums by Pritam in recent times, it's recent Akshay Kumar tracks like 'Allah Hafiz' and 'Lets Rock Soniye' have been loved too!	One expected the remix version of 'Labon Ko' to be picturised on Akshay at least. Even that hasn't happened as Shiney and Vidya continue to feature in the latest version of the song.
4	5	Partner	'Partner' continues to be all over the town. After making a huge impact at the box office, it is now available in Home Video version as well. Moreover VCDs and DVDs of the songs are out too which has resulted on continues visibility of this Sajid-Wajid soundtrack.	None. It is as 'masaledaar' as it gets!
5	8	Jab We Met	When 'Jab We Met' made it's debut last week, it had seemed that it would be at least a fortnight more before the album would break into Top-5. Well, it has achieved the feat in one week flat and finds itself rubbing shoulders with the likes of old war horse 'Partner'. Pritam gets another hit soundtrack to his name.	None. The album is as romantic and melodious as it gets!
6	6	Chak De India	Consistency being the name of the game here, 'Chak De India' hardly budges from it's spot and continues to find audience for itself world over. The album deserves to be played louder this week to give India a chance to fight in the ongoing cricket series with Australia. Chak De!	Title song is one of the biggest hits of the current decade! And this is the main area where the album scores.
7	7	Johnny Gaddar	Staying steady at #7, 'Johnny Gaddaar' soundtrack is catching up with the audience. 'Doob Jaa Mere Pyaar Mein' is the most liked track while the title track is catching up too.	To the disappointment of everyone, the movie's first week's box office collections haven't been up to the mark. If the film disappears earlier than expected, it would adversely impact the music sales too.
8	4	Heyy Babyy	Though the album was continuously doing a flip-flop around #5, this week it has indeed taken a big fall by finding itself at #8. Will it be able to sustain itself for next few weeks or make a hasty exit from the charts?	None. This one is a complete entertainer.
9	Re-entry	Laaga Chunari Mein Daag	LCMD has not been able to see much going in its favor ever since it's release. After being stuck at #9 for weeks, it even got a scare last week when it dropped out completely from Top-10. It returns in the week leading to the film's release but again at the very bottom.	There is not a single song in the entire album that has worked as an anchor track
10	9	Darling	While the original DVDs of the film and the songs have already hit the stands, 'Darling' gets yet another week's stay into the charts. This is Pritam's third album in the chart after 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' and 'Jab We Met' though 'Metro' has finally said adieu.	The film has flopped otherwise the album could have been in a better position today due to 2-3 genuinely popular tracks

awwww realy i know yaar its will def take time to settle down to new house . his birthday is on 2 nov 😳 . but if u coudlnt come so we will surly miss u alot. 😳
