Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of bollywood, has been approached by Walt Disney Pictures with an investment plan of $ 30 million in the first stage of collaboration with his Red Chillies Entertainment. The Walt Disney Pictures is a world famous big entertainment company of the US and wants to cash in on the world wide popularity of the King Khan by making him agree for collaboration between the two companies. Recently, the officials from the US Company had gone to London for meeting Shah Rukh Khan when he was holidaying there with his family.
As an insider reveals, ' Officials from Walt Disney Pictures flew down to meet Shah Rukh while he was holidaying in London with his family. Walt Disney has plans of investing $ 30 millions in the first phase of their partnership tenure. Given SRK's popularity abroad, other companies like Sony Pictures and Rupert Murdoch's company had also shown interest in investing in Red Chillies Entertainment. Although SRK has not confirmed the deal yet, it might be interesting if he decides to do so.'
With this deal, Shah Rukh Khan's international popularity will take a big leap forward as Walt Disney is a very big company and has world wide presence in the field of entertainment. As Bobby Chawla, Shah Rukh Khan's manager confirms the news of a meeting between the King Khan and the representatives of Disney in London but feigns ignorance about what happened after the meeting. Perhaps, everything is being kept under wraps before the deal is finally inked between Shah Rukh's Red Chillies and Walt Disney.
However, the deep interest that Walt Disney Pictures has in this collaboration can be gauged from the fact that it was their second attempt at meeting Shah Rukh in this regard that they succeeded. Earlier, they had tried to meet the Badshah in Mumbai but he was too busy to give them an audience and at that time the Disney representatives had to be content with meeting his manager Bobby Chawla.
If the deal comes through, it will be another feather in Shah Rukh Khan's cap. Recently, his underproduction Om Shanti Om, which is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Farah Khan, fetched a whopping Rs 75 crore in global distribution rights, which is the highest ever for any bollywood movie.
Great going, keep it up Badshah Khan!!
