You know...the thing about doing those kinda of emotional scenes and getting to the skin of the character in them...that's not just tough to do but also an intensely draining process...

I remember, two years back I was part of a college theatre troupe and we had to do Mahesh Dattani's Final Solutions on stage. I played the role of the grandmother and she was a very bitter character, and the reasons why she's so emerge gradually throughout the play until finally she vents out at two people in the end. Because I'd read up and visualised this character so much knowing what to do and how to portray her was the easier part, but doing that last emotional scene left me shivering every time, and most of the time I'd take maybe 5-10 minutes to relax before I could get back to normal. Because you know, you're using your body, your voice, all your energy for that scene...it takes some time to get back to reality or even distance yourself from the character. And this is coming from someone who is an amateur and acts only as a hobby, and with not even 1/100th of HC's talent.

In the case of a thorough professional like HC, for whom acting is part of his daily life...he must be having scenes like that on a daily basis and dealing with the emotional onslaught! It's no wonder he gets emotional while doing them! He has to build the intensity gradually most times till it reaches a boiling point, mainly so that his grief or anger or fear can actually be convincing.

Take for instance the epi where Onu asks Taani abt what he means to her and why she lied abt Nupur...it's a gradual, controlled buildup starting from the dance at Robi's sagaai party...and then his disbelief at Ananya's accusations...and when he starts asking Taani questions, his voice is controlled, but only barely...and then, as his pain and confusion becomes more and more, the pitch of his voice rises, there are times when it dips and he goes dangerously cold, and in ALL that...you can see most of all his most painful realisation: that he IS in love with Taani, and he has already lost her

What I liked most abt 18th June KDM epi...was that Prem could have easily done less and STILL been the hero, and no viewer would even have a problem! Prem didn't NEED to do that, all he needed to do was protect Heer, give ek-do bhashans to DJ and ask people if they would ever let another girl be treated like this: it would still be such a typically Prem thing to do! But no...there was passionate conviction in every word...you could tell he was voluntarily moving out of his own comfort zone to do this for HIS Heer 👏

its one of the most natural things that i've seen on screen so far!

that awkwardness...that kindof "i don't know how to start kindof look"

everything was there!

the general idea is that if u r in love...its easy to just go abt "it"🤣...the general thinking...oki i love her...or him...it won't be tough!🤣

but the reality is...that no matter how well u know the person...u do get awkward in such intimate moments...u r confused how to just go abt it...wat if any action has a ulta reaction on ur partner! there r so many things going on!

taanu SR scene..these two portrayed it soo beautifully...

they both kbnew wat was coming...it was pretty obvious...but still that hesitation was there...which is the most natural thing!

onu trying to break the silence...tani getting the hints...but doesn't know if its right to just let it go!

and then onu changing the topic...and then coming to the point!
