Yes, I’ve just read another 5 chapters tonight and stopped on Chapter 28 😅 early morning tomorrow due to work otherwise would’ve tried finishing it.

I want to start my next book so trying to push through this.

How have you found it? Has it picked up for you?

Also not enjoying that this is entirely from Salem’s PoV and I still don’t know much about her!

Also I got the slightest hint of dub con in Chapter 14

Salem is still mysterious and so is Caz! Wish there was more from his pov as the mystery surrounding him is more intriguing 😂

I feel the audiobook has helped ignore the detailed descriptions of everything so I can focus on the dialogues and scenes. I am skimming through the intimate scenes as they’re all repetitive and boring lol

This book is low key annoying me. The author just seems to keep dropping random facts out of nowhere instead of resolving and connecting the ones we already know. It’s probably cos she will connect all the dots in the end, but still, chapter 25 and boom, something that was never mentioned until now is suddenly important?! Why? How?

Also, I’m sorry but the chemistry between Caz and Salem seems forced to me. Show, don’t tell is the first rule of storytelling, and just saying in 100 different ways how connected they are doesn’t show me. And why? And how?

For some reason, Aditi constantly referring to Caz as Salem ‘hunky chonk’ is irritating me! What even is that expression?

Also the ‘paint and petrichor’ reference to Caz and the way her molecules and neurons and receptors all rearrange for him!

It gets interesting at some parts, like when she discovered about the other guy who got murdered while doing the same investigation as her, but then it doesnt take long to fall flat again. Now im on chapter 20, where she gets locked in a room with Caz, so im hoping the next chapter will be action packed if you get what i mean

I wouldnt even list this under dark romance, its the most bland dark romance ive ever read

even 50 shades was darker than this
