Dub-con has become quite common across lots of dark romance unfortunately. I tend to skip past the sex scenes because they’re all repetitive now 😂 in my head, I just think they’ve had a really good time and now can’t stop wanting the other because they’re the BEST 😂 it all seems to follow this pattern.

I am hoping for more of Caz’s point of view, I like duet povs in stories so I know what the other is thinking and feeling.

I like having steamy scenes in the second half of the book, I hate it when they start doing it at the beginning, its like ab baaki story mein reh kya gaya hai, no anticipation leftsmiley38 And usually its only the first scene that is good to read, after that the rest are just repetitive.

For me, it's the opposite. Lack of consent is ick for me. I just can't do it. smiley18

Yes! Reverse Harem or vice versa I cannot do.

I do enjoy some cheating books where there’s angst and the one cheated on moves on and the cheater suffers. There are some I’ve read where the main characters cheated with each other and it doesn’t even make sense.

There’s no justification of the cheating - like I know nothing can justify but there isn’t like a strong, solid explanation to why they cheated.

Same, I am hoping we will get more from Caz point of view.

What chapter are you on now? I’m going to read 9&10 soon.

I will read Chapter 9 when I go to bed.smiley36

Also, yes, I think Prof Merlin is shady af. He's definitely involved in some of the cult business - and he seems to not like Caz much, so maybe Caz has something on him?

I think he may also be involved in Olivia's case.

I will finish 9 & 10 today (I'm sticking to IST dates cos I'm 12 hours behind)

I initially thought the same about Merlin but it cant be that simple, I think the writer wants us to suspect Merlin but there will be some twist.

I havent read anything by runyx before, so I have nothing to compare it with, but I do agree with you. I'm still not able to get hooked. I mean the story isn't bad, I do wanna continue reading, I just feel it's going too slow and too much descriptions, not enough action.smiley37

It actually matches at some instances with her other book Gothikana, though I'm liking Enigma at lot more than I liked Gothikana. Dark Verse was what I used to love till the 3rd book, then after that it started going downhill. Even Enigma is having mixed reviews from what I've seen. I really am liking the book so far though

I agree, I just get so ticked off by books which have dub con. Non con I don't read only. Cheating books I love when there is love sort of revenge/karma on the cheater

I don't like books which have smut. I feel like there should be emotional chemistry between the couple, when the build up is really strong, it's good when such scenes are placed there. That's why insta love is mist no- no for me

It’s good thing you haven’t got anything to compare it to yet.

I did a sneak peak at reviews on Goodreads and many have compared the writing and how this one seems so slow compared to the dark verse series.

Dark verse series is full of action, twists and turns and so much mystery, suspense. My favourite series from her and hoped this would come to a close second.

Dark Verse started off really well, first 3 books are unmatched. How do you feel about Syndicater though?
