He had spectacular insight into the human mind. But then we are talking about a nobel laureate. The English translation of his Gitanjali was deemed good enough to be given the Nobel Prize.
My only regret is that I haven't read his stories in their original Bengali. But I am getting there. I am going to start with his stories again. This time in Bengali. :)

I've read a few of Tagore too- in English though. The Postmaster was so heartbreaking😭
Kabuliwallah I've read in Hindi😳

Oh, and...you should try Anton Chekov's stories too. Also Oscar Wilde- his stories make you think. Like, really deep thinking.
And have you read The Diamond Necklace by Guy de Maupassant?

The Postmaster was such a satire on people's transitory approach towards other people. Like, the postmaster is now sitting in a boat, taking him away from the girl. The concern inches away from him faster than he does from her. It's just sad, but that's how we are. He had his home to look forward to or he wouldn't have liked it without her. She, on the other hand had nothing.

Yeah. Ditto the Castaway. People just...move on. That's life, I guess.

Yeah, The Necklace was a chapter in my ninth grade English textbook. (That book had a lovely collection of stories and poems.) I remember having enjoyed that story immensely. 😃

People move on. Then there's Bella Swan. Enough said.

Let me just say this much, though.

People move on, even in books where the writer can choose otherwise. Then there's Bella Swan who becomes a vampire and finds out it was exactly she was even born. That's like, real love, man. 🐷
