After reading some of the posts, I have renewed my list of books that gave me a permant brain damage😆

I had read those books so long ago that I din't even remember them😆
Most of the books by Barabara Cartland. They are apparantly love stories where an 18 year old bholi baali girl, virgin, most important, innocent and inexperienced will end up falling for a guy thrice her age😕 And this guy will always be tall dark and handsome and oh a womanizer🥱 Why they fall in love, nobody knows. It's always the same with some of these romance books; tall, dark handsome man helping damsel in distress And the worst part's that Barbara Cartland continued writing such mindless love stories till the age of 90😲😲😲😲
And ofcourse, the Alchemist, how could I have forgotten that one😲😆 Reading that book is a sure shot cure for insomnia😆😆

I hated Gone With the Wind ... so much so that I stopped reading it midway and haven't picked it up again (this was the first time that i left a novel unfinished)

Reason for my hatred? SCARLETT O'HARA 🤢🤢🤢 I agree with what BTV said ... I seriously think that Scralett has to be the worse heroine in literary history... I mean.. she goes through heart break, child birth and four years of war and deprivation and she still remained that selfish.. self centered..and BLIND?? (stopped reading the novel when i read that line about her marrying Kennedy so don't know how much more stupid she got) Such a great premise, setting and hero (Rhett 😍)all ruined by brains down her ass heroine 🤢

And Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Whatever potential this novel had was ruined for me at the very first page.. Man and woman are walking down the road .. then we have the descriptions of everything from the winds and grass.. and two, three pages later.. man and woman are still walking down the road 🤢 His poetry was good but for me Hardy is still verryy over-rated

Twilight Saga ... erm.. i m glad i didn't waste my time on those novels 😆 Alex and the movies were enough for me to avoid this one (thank god😆)

And oh ...as much as i m fan of Harlequin and Silhouette and M&Bs etc ..i absolutely hated Penny Jordan 🤢 Jeez what was that 🤢?

I read Gone with the Wind like ages ago.. and Rhett Butler was definitely something...😉

I am in absolute agreement with Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles.. I just couldn't go past a few pages, no matter how hard I tried.. This is one "classic" that holds such a distinction...

get over it

i so agree with u, it was almost like a guy in clg is talkin to his friends the same way to many men talk abt their hot sexy gfs. i was so disapointed in it though the story line was nice.

Well, I've to agree with you about twilight. I never left any book midway once I start, which is the only reason I finished the first book in the series. I couldn't get myself to read through the others.
I've no clue about L.J Smith. But I love the show Vampire Diaries.

P.S I Love you is loved by a lot of people but I couldn't get beyond the first few chapters. I thought it dragged a lot after that. I liked Rosie Dunne aka Where Rainbows End by the same author more.

I got to add those mindless romance novels too. I like love stories and Romance genre. But the books which have spineless heroines who fall for the heroes for no apparent reason & Heros who are MCPs are beyond my understanding.

Vampire Diaries are AMAzing..they are absolutly interesting..i have read them!! .you have to read them!! the shows very good as well...apparently

I'm glad I never bothered to pick up Gone With The Wind even though it was always lying on my bookshelf 🤣

To Kill a Mockingbird (by Harper Lee) and The Day of the Triffids (John Wyndham)
oh my gosh...I cant even BEGIN to explain these two...I had to read them in school, and from the entire high school's curriculum, these were the only two books that i hated with a passion. Never felt a book torture me in that manner...it was the worst!!

Ari...
*Pallo's stalker shoes on*

Agree with you... O'Hara was da damn synonym of self-centred and obnoxious! I liked Rhett tho...Not the "salivating" type like...In comparison to her, he glided down from heaven!

And seeessshhh u read Tess of d'Ubervilles too? Gawd! What a crappy story...I dun remember much if the book except she gets herself soiled (in the language of the book) and the lead fellow's name is ANGEL! Like really?

I read twilight series...when I was much much much younger and I initially liked the first book...But as I grew older I began detesting the language...
It was like "typical plot + language strictly simple + intensity nil + vampire sparklers = Twilight"
I think the movies are much better (I choose to overlook Kristen Stewart) ...

Penny Jordan is too wordy! I liked only one of her books... "BLACKMAIL" It was my first book of hers and I liked the plot a lot!
When I tried reading more of her books I realized that all heroes spoke scathingly or menacingly and all heroines felt their hearts fluttering! 😆😆😆
