I haven't read this genre, actually. So I might not be able to help you. 😳 If you're interested in murder mysteries, read Agatha Christie. I have heard a lot about her works. 😃

For a political twist you can read Colin Forbes....start with Terminal or any later novel - they are in continuity, with a nice team.
Dorothy L. Sayers has some nice short stories.
Saki's stories aren't exactly murder mysteries, but they are thrillers nonetheless.
Ruskin Bond's good too.

Some suggestions to get you started:

1. 'And then there were none' by Agatha Christie (If you can't find that one, then you can try any AC book - she is the undisputed queen of murder mysteries - you will NEVER guess the murderer!)
2. 'The Uninvited' by Dorothy Macardle - this one is a ghost story + mystery with a little romance added in..I loved it!
3. 'Black Curtain' by Cornell Woolrich - Fantastic muder mystery! The protagonist deals with amnesia for three years and he had forgotteh his identity for 3 long years..he doesn't know who he was or what he did in this span of time..and when he gets back to being himself..he realizes that he is accused of being a murderer! I just finished reading this one the 3rd time, it's very very interesting! :)
Do let me know how they turn out :)

Try anything by Stephen King or Dean Koontz... they're both amazing writers and the storylines are great too :)

If you're looking for thrillers, you can try Dan Brown books' like The Da Vinci Code" and " Angels and Demons". They're not exactly murder\ mystery, but they will keep you captivated and thinking all the way through.
I am also a fan of the "In Death" series by J.D.Robb. There are about 30 of the them in the series. They're good stories of that genre, but can sometimes get kinda gruesome.

Hi, Please suggest few novels with suspense, mystery and horror. Like investigative horror novels. I’d prefer non romantic novels. Thanks
