Fortunes change every Friday. It is time to go beyond proclamations, claims, retorts and diatribe. The BO burrow is where all false gods falter. Fly-day or Fry-day..? It depends on which end of the Six Pack chart you are!

1. Emraan Hashmi

The surprise hit of the month should be 'Jannat'. And the wonderdude of the week is Emraan Hashmi.

The movie had an opening that was at par with 'Race' and 'Welcome'. This is inspite of the IPL, which has been eating into box-office collection of all May movies.

Made on a modest budget of 10 crores, the producers are sure to laugh all the way to their banks. The movie had had a good opening across all centers during the weekend. Reports from the overseas market are also encouraging.

Emraan Hashmi has delivered a restrained performance. The viewers, it seems, have finally accepted Emmi Boy's capabilities as an actor-cum- smoocher's delight. "Fresh angle- good songs- Emraan Hashmi" can be a saleable formula to those who are ready to think beyond the Khans, Chopras and Bachchan.

2. Amitabh Bachchan

'Bhoothnath' has some excellent moments. It has Amitabh Bachchan playing the title role and Aman Siddiqui putting in a brave performance. The net Box Office collection of 'Bhoothnath' stands at 18 crores on May 17, 2008.

With 'Bhoothanth', he has played it safe by opting for a story that was appealing both to the old and the young.

The collections picked up over the weekend but has shown a downward trend in the second week. The fact that the film had two superstars (Big B, SRK) has not been highlighted in the promos. This has been cited as a major reason for the movie's average run. The going is strong in multiplexes and single screens. And kids are loving it!

3. Shah Rukh Khan

You can love SRK. You can hate him. Buy you simply cannot ignore him!

In typical fashion, he made sure he was noticed in the 20-minute cameo in Bachchan-starrer 'Bhoothnath'. Here is one actor who does not flinch while sharing quality screen space with the greatest superstar of India.

With 'Chak De, India' and 'Om Shanti Om' behind him, SRK is not willing to sign on the wrong paper. His coming-soons include Aditya Chopra's 'Rab Ne Banadi Jodi' and Karan Johar's 'Khan'.

There is no stopping this Khan!

4. Anil Kapoor

Anil Kapoor makes us giggle with his Bhayaji englisssh in 'Tashan'. However, the film has failed to sustain the great initial pull it had, and has earned the dubious distinction of being one of Yash Raj film' worst offerings in recent times.

'Tashan' enters the fourth week with the box office net collection at 30 crores, and there seems to be no chance for a revival.

The fall in box collections, however, has not stopped the audience from appreciating the performances in 'Tashan'. Anil Kapoor manages to keep the viewer entertained with his verbal antics in the first half. The success of 'Black and White' and 'Race' has proved that he still is a bankable star.

5. Kajol

Ajay Devgan's directorial debut 'U, Me Aur Hum' has Kajol carrying the movie on her shoulders. Devgan who was inspired by the Hollywood flick, 'The Notebook', failed to get to the marrow of the original.

The film has been gunned down by the critics and the layman; the average run of the movie proves that Kajol is still a hot favourite with the crowds.

However, the movie failed to live up to high expectations of a Kajol starrer and the collections began to dip from the second week. The net collection is 23 crores in its fifth week.
