Emotions every newcomer is most likely to experience amidst the shine and shimmer of showbiz. And this year they were quite a few.
Right from models, star daughters, child actors to beauty paegant winners, 2007 witnessed a bevy of beauties line up to make their debut on Bollywood's big screen.
Refresh your memory, and take a look at 2007's debutantes:
Deepika Padukone
After sizzling on the ramp and taking the advertising world by storm, Badminton champ, Prakash Padukone's dimpled daughter is seeking Bollywood with a vengeance.
Though her film debut was the Kannada super success, Aishwarya, her first Hindi film, Om Shanti Om, opposite Shah Rukh Khan has turned the stunner from Bangalore into a household name.
So far, it's only hits for this miss. Will her next with Yash Raj Films -- directed by Siddharth Anand co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Minissha Lamba -- be another feather in her cap? Lets wait and watch.
Sonam Kapoor
She's beautiful. She's talented. She's Kapoor.
Anil Kapoor's darling daughter began her career on a seemingly ideal note with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-hyped magnum opus, Saawariya opposite another highly anticipated Kapoor -- Ranbir. It is another matter that the blue-green version of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky's White Nights didn't go down well with the viewers.
Even so, Sonam dazzled. And how. There's plenty to look forward to from this new princess on the block. Namely, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's Dilli 6 featuring Abhishek Bachchan.
Jiah Khan
Take lite, she says with a tingling accent. Cheeky, confident, care-a-damn, she's potent enough to sweep the Big B off his feet.
Say hello to New York born, London-bred -- Jiah Khan.
Following her impressive debut in Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd, watch out for the bright and sexy 19-year-old in Aamir Khan's Ghajini.
Sayali Bhagat
Another newcomer. Another remake.
Winning the Femina Miss India-World crown (2004) was not nearly enough for this looker.
Like most of her predecessors, Sayali too couldn't resist getting on the Bollywood bandwagon with her debut film, The Train.
Fantastic soundtrack aside, both Bhagat and her hot lip-locks with co-star Emraan Hashmi failed to pull this lousy remake of Hollywood's Derailed out of the dumps.
Urvashi Sharma
Pretty and perky, model-turned-actress Urvashi Sharma shared screen space with Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna in Abbas-Mastan's not-so-racy thriller, Naqaab.
Despite the first-timer's poised screen presence, this scene-to-scene rip-off of Dot The I was a damp squib at the box office.
Hannsikaa Motwani
She played Raveena Tandon's sexually assaulted daughter in Jaago. She was one of Hrithik Roshan's knee-high buddies in Koi... Mil Gaya.
A few years later, the cute kid miraculously blossomed into a young woman to portray Himesh Reshammiya's love interest in her Hindi Film debut, Aap Kaa Surroor: The Moviee- The Real Luv Story. But before this, she worked in a Telugu flick, Desamuduru.
Oh, and guess what? Ms Motwani is only 16
Soniya Mehra
Late actor Vinod Mehra's daughter, too, was drawn by the lure of lights, camera and action.
Raised in Kenya and London, Soniya packed bag and baggage, along with with her thick British accent, to make movies. Too bad, her debut Victoria No 203, a contemporary remake of the 1972 hit caper was unappreciated at the BO and otherwise.
The Chak De! India Girls
Shimit Amin's glorious celebration of spirit, teamwork and hockey introduced more than a dozen sprightly young girls on screen.
While Vidya Malvade, who played captain, wasn't exactly new to the game (Vikram Bhatt's Inteha, anyone?), new finds like Bindiya (Shilpa Shukla), Balbir (Tanya Abrol), Komal (Chitrashi Rawat), Preeti (Sagarika Ghatge)and Aliya (Anahita Nair) made a lasting impression.
Having struck gold as a team under Shah Rukh Khan's coachmanship, some of these fine ladies are now looking out to carve an individual niche for themselves.
ok guys who face impress you
