Farah Khan likes challenges!
Maternity breaks can do different things to different women.
For Farah Khan, who's playing mommy to triplets, it has meant coming back to work with oodles of energy. She will be playing judge on a new reality show called Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar and says in her inimitable style, "I like judging shows. There is no script to learn or to follow and I am free to comment as much as I can!"
But how does she manage to find time, because playing mom to three babies is a huge task. "I can't afford to complain. I have my mother and parents in law as great back ups, I have maids, nurses to look after my babies. I have seen my maid coming back to work just four days after she delivered a baby and so who am I to complain when I gave myself three months?" she says in one breath. And then, a wicked smile lights up her face and she says, "You know, men will never understand this thing about multitasking and endurance. Only women can be up and about after childbirth!"
Next on her agenda is making a film, but that she says, "will only happen next year. For now judging a show is what I am going to do since it requires me to shoot for only once a week. Besides, I love melodrama and stuff like that but since Vishal-Shekhar who are the other judges for the show are great friends with me, I guess I will have to do without that here." If she liked judging so much, why was she missing from the second season of Indian Idol? "Because I couldn't take Anu Malek for another season," she laughs and we quite don't know whether she's joking or half serious. "You know what I really enjoyed about my last bit of judging on that show? It was the worst singers. The way they sang for their auditions. It made me crack up with laughter," says this very politically incorrect director.
