Amitabh Bachchan, who is playing a ghost in Bhoothnath, was very scared when he saw the sketches made for his role the first time. This was revealed by director Vivek Sharma.
"Amitji's immediate reaction was - Kya Yeh Main Hoon? It was quite good fun to see his weird looks," he said and added, "To get into the role he worked hard for 2 months. The only difference of opinion was that earlier we had thought Bhoothnath should have long hair but Amitji said that it will be a repetition of the Jhoom Barabar Jhooom look."
"The long nails used to irritates him a lot as there is a special gum used for it. He had to keep it on for 4 to 5 hours but still he used to very active after the shoot. Amitabh saw the film and was amazed to see himself as ghost."
Vivek says everyone has worked very hard on Amitabh's role. "We have used whitener so that the corpse looks natural. In the film it is shown that he has come after 20 years of his death and so his clothes had to look tattered. The final brush up has been given by his own make up artist Deepak Sawant."
Sharing some interesting experiences while shooting for the film, he says, "He used to take 2 hours to get into his ghost costume and during his first scene he had scared all the small fans."
Bhoothnath is releasing May 9 2008.
