Ranbir Kapoor to do a modern-day Charlie Chaplin

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing a very unusual role in Rajkumar Santoshi's film 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani'.
Santoshi is set to depart from his usual socio-political dramas by making an all-out romantic flick with Bollywood's most touted newcomer in the leading role. Titled Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani , the movie will have Ranbir playing a character with shades of Charlie Chaplin and his own grandfather Raj Kapoor .
Says a source from the industry: "It is a very interesting character of a young man named Prem who goes through myriad experiences, suffers pain and heartbreak, and yet he smiles and make others happy despite his own suffering. The character will have some shades of the legendary Charlie Chaplin who inspired Ranbir's grandpa Raj Kapoor as well."
It was after watching Ranbir's first film Saawariya (in which Ranbir's character had shades of Raj Kapoor) that Rajkumar Santoshi took the decision to cast Ranbir in 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani'.
The movie will have Ranbir pairing with Katrina Kaif . Pritam will compose the film's songs.
It's shooting will begin after Ranbir is through with Yashraj Film's Bachna Ae Haseenon .
