MUMBAI: This week's release Race starring Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy, will release with 1250 prints worldwide.
The movie is directed by Abbas Mustan and produced by Tips. It is being distributed by UTV.
"On 21 March we are releasing the movie with 1250 prints worldwide, with approximately 250 prints overseas and 1000 prints in India including digital," Tips managing director Kumar Taurani tells Businessofcinema.com.
The release of Tamil and Telugu version of Race will follow on 4 April.
In Race, Bipasha Basu plays the role of a model and a scene in the film requires her to walk the ramp with Akshaye Khanna. This is where Provogue stepped in for an in-film placement. Incidentally, Saif who is a part of this scene as a spectator of the fashion show, is the brand ambassador of Provogue, along with Esha Deol and Upen Patel.
In conjunction with this tie-up, Provogue organized a fashion show in Delhi few months ago wherein the entire cast walked the ramp. Apart from this, the stylish eyewear that each of the actors sport in the film are by Velvete.
"Fortunately due to the lull phase in release of other movies, the promotional activities of Race are standing out. If there was another movie release, we would have to share the space and the attention of audience would get divided," says Taurani.
For the overseas promotion of the movie Tips has tied up with a US based supermarket Swad to play promos of Race in those markets.
