Why is Salman Khan promoting Nayee Padosan star Mahek Chahal?

Salman Khan isn't promoting girlfriend Katrina Kaif but Mahek Chahal nowadays. Salman's banner has signed Mahek (of Nayee Padosan fame) for its next home production, Main Aur Mrs Khanna. But there is more to the story.

Following reports that all's not well between Salman and his girlfriend Katrina Kaif, the latest buzz in the film industry is that Salman has developed a liking for Mahek and therefore has been promoting her.

According to industry sources, the actor got to know the sexy NRI actress during one of his shows and felt that she has a lot of potential. Mahek was to be launched by Abbas Mustan in Ajnabee. The role later went to Bipasha Basu.

Salman has also been recommending Mahek to many of his producer friends.

But Sallu and Mahek seem to share more than just professional interests. Incidentally, Mahek has often been seen on the sets of Salman's films even if she isn't involved in the project. Mehak was definitely there with the actor during the outdoor shooting of his film, Wanted Dead or Alive.

An industry source close to the film's unit said," Salman Khan even offered Mahek to do a song in Wanted Dead or Alive even though he isn't the film's producer. Isn't that strange?"

Mahek was launched by producer Nitin Manmohan in Nayee Padosan, which was a box office disaster. Although Mahek has been in the industry for a long time she has not been able to make a mark as an actress.

Mahek has been previously linked with Sanjay Dutt.

It amazes me how the media chooses to link two people as a couple because they are seen together or because they choose to help them. Salman is known to help people in the industry, it doesn't mean he's involved with them. First they linked him to girl who did the item number in Cash and now they are linking him to Mahek. I wonder who'll he be linked to next.

It's so annoying, especially for the people being linked up!! The media are
just looking for a chance to make a scoop out of nothing and exploit it
until it is big news!! Salian's always being linked with someone one way
or another!!
