Why didn't Barjatya cast Shahid?

After the failure of Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon and Hum Saath Saath Hain , it was Vivah that proved to be the saving grace for Rajshri Productions. The young and charming Shahid Kapoor as Prem reminded us of Salman from Maine Pyar Kiya while the coy and docile portrayal of Amrita was like that of Bhagyashree's in the same film.
Shahid and Amrita Rao made a 'complete couple' in Vivah and we thought Sooraj Barjatya had got his winning jodi , so much so that he constantly expressed his desire to cast the duo again in the next fim tha he was planning.

But now, the filmmaker has eventually signed Ishaa Koppikar and Sonu Sood in Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi . The film revolves around an unmarried couple living together and sharing a bond which is no less than a marriage.

We however asked him what happened to his wish of casting Shahid andAmrita. He said, "Shahid and Amrita are too young and their age didn't let me zero in on them for my next. They suited their roles in Vivah but not in Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi."

oh bharjatiya one hit and now this why???? do not like the subject so not rajshiri bet its going to come out like mein prem ki deewani hoon dont even like the actors..lets hope its a rumour

I don't know if i want to see a rajshiri production with this story, it feels a little wired, and Esha though she's pretty and all is not that good of an actor, maybe they should try two different actors, so that people can handle the story. this way the story is a little out of the ordinary and the actors are not familier, that's unlikly to work.I guess they know what they are doing. 😆

mmmmhhhhhhh .. well fair enough if shahid n amrita don't fit the casting! Though they are my fav pair!

Shahid or no Shahid..........most Barjatya films are BORING.


I would recommend Vivah to those who have troubles sleeping,play the movie and baby you'll be asleep in no time.

😲wow...good on you though for expressing you saying your view a few people said that about vivah but guess people must have liked it for being a hit.

Sooraj-ji is the only director that makes films with good values and culture in them i especially love them living in uk even more for that they are too cute as well 😳

Hahahah you said it! 😃 lol I can't help but agree.

Shahid and Amrita may have performed well/not I don't really know I kinda got really bored w/ the movie and watched like 15 mins of it ... I was going to fall off to sleep any minute anyway!

MPKDH was so lame, it wasn't even funny. It came on TV a few months ago and I remember laughing at the amount of overacting Hrithik, Kareena etc everyone was doing.

(The above is strictly my opinion - please do not bash me because I didn't like Vivaah/MPKDH 😛)
