Ash-Kumar's-Speedy-Thoughts: The best experience has to be Aamir Khan. I really enjoyed his inputs, I enjoyed the way I addressed a few ideas, he addressed a few ideas. It wasn't just sit back, I am a celebrity just do what you want to do, shoot, let's go home. He was very much for giving his own input and I really enjoyed that. I felt very honoured. I initially wanted to do something on his arm or his chest but he said no lets do something different. Then he said, why don't you do something on my forehead! I said that's interesting. We decided to do on a side of his face. All the while he was still, people were talking to him but he said no I want to keep very still and want to make sure that it is working well. He is a lovely guy, absolute gentleman.
Our-Mehndi-Imagination: There's magic in those intense eyes searching to tread into territories that no one else does. Ash's well manicured art chisels the sharp features of the well toned superstar. I can see what others can't even dream of. I don't try hard to be different. It's just that somehow I end up making a 'difference' to whatever I do…
Rani Mukherji
Ash-Kumar's-Speedy-Thoughts: Rani Mukherji is someone I really enjoyed working with. I am a fan of hers. We dealt with Rani's hands. A lot of people don't concentrate on her hands. I feel the way she works with her hands is mesmerizing. Normally I work from the wrist to the index finger but for Rani I went from the wrist to the middle finger. Rani has a traditional look to her and this suits her more.
Our-Mehndi-imagination: She can kill with a smile, has been in Bollywood for a while and she has miles to go and lots of dreams to fulfill. Rani Mukherji's magnanimous laughter gives her petite frame a towering personality. Ash's dainty sketches on her hands are like precious gems making her glow like a priceless diamond. Sun borrows its warmth from this queen of all times.
Ranbir Kapoor
Ash-Kumar's-Speedy-Thoughts: Ranbir is one of the best celebrities I've met till date. You know what's best. You need to do what is best. That's very encouraging. He is the first celebrity I've actually done a tribal design for, which I thought suited him very well. I did a tribal design on his shoulder and it suited him perfectly.
Our-Mehndi-Imagination: Ranbir Kapoor is a super stylish dude who effortlessly stands out in the crowd of most good looking men of all times. Ash's design makes him look like a new age Prince. I've just had my early morning tea, it's a lovely day….how about some Love….Mwah!
Ash-Kumar's-Speedy-Thoughts: When you think of Abhishek Bachchan you think of sophistication, gentleman, very well spoken, polished family, well educated etc. I wanted to do something sophisticated but still break the mould. So, I asked if I could do on his hands because Mehndi is traditionally done on women's hands. With him I did a very masculine design on his hands. Very sophisticated and it came out brilliantly.
Our-Mehndi-Imagination: When you look at Abhishek B, you don't hunt for the traces of those coveted six packs. It's something in that crooked smile, sexy unshaven, unkempt look that binds attention. Ash paints poetic eternity on those articulate long fingers. This metro-sexual dude makes for riveting romance just by the mere look of it. Ah…the things that love does!
