the movie is set in sixteenth century right so how did the Macaws (the parrots) get to india.

It was very usual to present birds as gifts to the royalty. That is not a blooper. Parrots as species are millions of years old and are found in many different species, mainly in tropical areas. It's not unusual for a king of Akbar's stature to have such brids, even if they were not found in India at that time. Akbar was also known to have a complete zoo and trained many wild animals.
