Ranbir Kapoor bagged the Best Debut Actor (Male) and Most Promising Newcomer Awards. Dad Rishi Kapoor accepted both the awards on his behalf. A proud Rishi said, "I'd like to share the Most Promising Newcomer Award with my second son, Neil Nitin Mukesh. I think he did a wonderful job in Johnny Gaddar." Deepika Padukone got the Best Debut Actor (Female).
Sajid Khan along with Shreyas Talpade, as hosts for the evening, turned out to be the real showstealers. The duo with their fantastic get-ups and silly jokes left the audience in splits. Audience burst into laughter at Sajid's grand 'towel act' spoofing Saawariya's popular song, Jab se mere naina... Shreyas and Sajid also donned the Chak De India girls' avatar to which a thrilled SRK couldn't contain himself and appreciated them for their 'bold and beautiful' endeavour.
Tabu looked surprised receiving the The Best Actress Award (Critics Choice) for Cheeni Kum. No surprises, The Best Actor Award (Critics Choice) went to Amitabh Bachchan, for the same film.
Sister Karisma Kapoor received the Best Actress Award (Female) for sister Kareena (Jab We Met). Karisma also gave her little thanksgiving speech on Kareena's behalf, not forgetting to mention Shahid for his cooperation.
