Gulshan Grover will be playing a hero in a Sanjay Gupta film, replacing Sunil Shetty. The bad man will be enacting the lead role for the first time in his career.
"I am playing the lead in a Sanjay Gupta produced film being directed by Suparn Verma with whom I had earlier acted in Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina (2005). I am extremely delighted playing one of the seven important leads in this yet untitled film. I have been a huge fan of Sanjay Gupta's films for a very long time. Suparn had presented me fantastically as a stylized don in his EKEH so I am really looking forward to my role in their film," Gulshan tells us.
But hadn't Gupta replaced him for Sunil for this role? "Yes it is true that Sunil was going to do the role but that hasn't lead to any problems between me and Sunil who is like a brother to me. In fact I spoke to him about it just a day before and he was very happy for me. Earlier, he had replaced me for Apna Sapna Money Money even though I had been signed for that role. Such replacements do keep happening in the industry," the Bollywood bad man adds.
However, industry sources inform, "Sunil had been confirmed for the role before the verbal dual between him happened with Sanjay Gupta. When differences between Gupta and his produced Shootout At Lokhandwala director Apoorva Lakhia erupted, Gupta ended up bad mouthing Lakhia's next, Mission Istanbul saying it had no future. Now being the producer of Mission Istanbul, Sunil Shetty was offended by Gupta's comments despite having helped the filmmaker many times in need. Also after Sanjay Dutt left his partnership combine with Gupta, White Feather Films, Sunil who is Dutt's close pal, also severed ties with Gupta. So as a result of all this, Gupta replaced Sunil with Gulshan Grover."
