Salman statue to be unveiled on Jan15- 08

Sources close to the star have confirmed that Salman has already given his first set of sittings and photographs to the Museum. "Salman was recently measured in Mumbai when the experts flew down to meet him. The sculptors spent the better part of the day with Salman and took plenty of photographs to ensure that the statue looks just like Khan," says the source. It is believed that the star has also decided on the outfit he wants his wax replica to wear.

And if just a lifelike replica of Salman wasn't enough the superstar has a surprise for his fans. "Salman will also record an exclusive video that will be played on January 15th when the statue is unveiled. Salman is quite excited about the whole thing," adds the source.

"I am touched and honoured that my fans have chosen me to appear at the prestigious Madame Tussauds. I look forward to visiting and coming face-to-face with my likeness," says Salman.

Previously there were rumours that Salman, who has become the fourth Bollywood star to be immortalized in wax after Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and ex girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, wasn't very keen on the offer. "Yes, it is true that Salman was thinking about turning it down initially. When the announcement came he was filming in Austria but after having consulted his family and friends he agreed to the honour purely for his fans," says our source.

In a poll that was held by the world famous museum in London over 10,000 votes were received, and Salman Khan was the clear winner followed by Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherji, Karan Johar, Kajol, Lata Mangeshkar, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.
