Kareena's idol

Bebo is on a roll, anyone in her place would be when declared the highest paid actress of Bollywood. But she has her feet firmly grounded and is taking her newly found success with a pinch of salt. And just recently she declared a statement where she said, she's quite high when in a recent online poll she was compared with Kajol. "Kajol has been my idol and I really look up to her," she says and considers it as her the biggest compliment till date. Hopefully the feeling is mutual.

Kajol is an actor who got maximum appreciation for her performances in films which were in safe zone and by that I mean a huge star cast, marketing and big production houses whereas Kareena found appreciation in small films, sometimes flop films but playing diverse characters. Kareena's characters in films like Refugee, Dev, Omkara, Chameli, Yuva, Kyon Ki, JWM (I haven't seen this one but going with others' opinion) etc. are something any actor would be proud of. It is sad that due to dismal performances of the films some of her portrayals went unnoticed. In my opinion if there is a comparison between Kajol and Kareena then I would rate them at par or may be Kareena would go one step ahead based on varied characted depiction.

Actually i feel they are somewhat at par...But Kareena has yet to learn and DO a lot...

Initially in her career...Even Kajol didnt do just safe roles.

Her first hit was Baazigar , not a usual love story..
Her first filmafare nomination was yeh Dillagi which had Saif and Akshay (not big stars then)..

Then she did DDLJ which gave her stardom...After which She did movies like Sapney ( quite a different movie), Hulchul, Gupt, Dushman, Pyaar kiya to darna kya, And the classics K2H2,K3G....all of which belong to different genres.. And she was the only woman in contemporary hindi cinema after Madhuri capable of pulling audiences to cinema hall

She has been Nominated for 10 filmfares and and won 6...

Kareena is definitely doing a good job and becoming mature too...
