Sonam Kapoor to go deglam

Kapoor will be seen without make-up in Dilli 6

Sonam Kapoor will be seen in a new avtaar for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Dilli 6.

A source on the project reveals that unlike Saawariya, Sonam will be seen in a different look for Dilli 6. "Sonam is quite excited about Rakeysh's film.

It's an amazing character and something that's extremely challenging."

New look

A source reveals, "She will be seen with very little make-up in the film. Sonam is already working on how her look should turn out in it."
The source adds, "Sonam is a huge fan of Rang De Basanti, and has watched it several times.

She was ecstatic when Mehra approached her for the project. Also she's a Abhishek Bachchan fan, so she didn't want to give up on the chance of working opposite him."

It is learnt that Rakeysh was quite impressed with Sonam's work in Saawariya and in fact, signed her after watching the promos. However, Sonam wasn't the first choice for Dilli 6. Mehra had gone to Soha Ali Khan as well as Kareena Kapoor for the same role.

The film will go on the floors in the second week of December in New Delhi. Sources reveal that Dilli 6 is based on Mehra's life in Delhi.
"The number 6 in the title comes from the postal code of Chandni Chowk which is a popular spot in New Delhi. Mehra spent quite some time around that place."

that's a risky move.. i wish her well and hope that she does amazing acting, although she is cute.. .. crowds are unforgiving otherwise!! and it is just the beginning of her career..

It is a risky move but many actors do that. The de-glam look doesn't mean that there won't be any make-up. She will don the make-up which suits the character, the natural tone. She doesn't look good without make-up.

Its a really risky move..she should suppose to be doing a bit glam roles as she is young.... but i hope the film is a good one 😛
