Everything seems to be so fake when at one moment we see our stars flying kisses at each other and the very next moment they are at each others throat. Our industry is noted for the nastiest A-list feuds of all times. We give you a look at some of the biggest and worst Bollywood feuds ever…Take a look.
Dilip Kumar and Madhubala
The Dilip Kumar and Madhubala love story was one of the most famous in those times. The duo met on the sets of their film Jwar Bhatta. Soon rumour began to do the rounds of their affair. For a long time the couple kept their relationship under the wraps, but soon these rumours were confirmed when Madhubala who always kept a low profile was seen at the premiere of Dilip Kumar's film Insaniyat. Madhubala was escorted by Dilp Kumar himself even though Madhubala had no connection with the film. By attending the premiere officially escorted by Kumar, they publicly acknowledged their relationship. The love story went on for almost six years but not for long. Soon their relationship turned sour and even lead to a scandalous court case. It so happened that B.R. Chopra , the director of the film Naya Daur in which Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were to star in, wanted the unit to travel to Bhopal for an extended outdoor shoot, but Madhubala's father Ataullah Khan objected and even claimed that the entire Bhopal schedule was an excuse to give Dilip Kumar the opportunity to romance his daughter. Finally, Chopra sued Madhubala for the cash advance she received from him for a film she now had no intention of completing. He also replaced her with South Indian actress Vyjayanthimala . Madhubala obediently supported her father despite her commitment to Dilip Kumar . Kumar testified against Madhubala and Ataullah Khan in favor of the director B.R. Chopra in open court. The case was lost by Madhubala and her father amid much negative publicity. Up until that point Madhubala had worked hard to gain a reputation as a reliable and professional performer with much goodwill in the industry. Her image was badly damaged after this episode. Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were effectively separated from that point on.
Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar
It is said that there hasn't been a better script writer in Bollywood after this duo parted ways. Salim Javed who wrote some of the most successful scripts ever, began their friendship with the movie Sarhadi Lootera. Known for creating the Angry Young Man of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and one of the greatest films ever Sholay, the team of Salim Javed was unbreakable. But then one fine day something went wrong, something cracked and the two made headlines that they had decided to split. Salim- Javed became Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. Till today the two have been tight lipped about what went wrong but it was said that the split took place due to their ego hassles.
Amitabh Bahchan and Shatrughan Sinha
Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughna Sinha might seem to be quite cordial with each other when they meet in public but not many may know that Amitabh and Shatrughan have been at war for quite sometime now. The duo has had major ego issues in the past. Shatrughan began his career as a noted villain in films whereas Amitabh Bachchan who came in later was a struggler. Shatrughan and Amitabh Bachchan became quite close and also became a hit pair in films. But soon Shatrughan lost out on many a roles which Amitabh gradually got like Sholay and Deewar which made him a superstar. Amitabh even accused Shatrughan for coming late on the sets. Soon Amitabh refused to do films with Shatrughan Sinha and this further added fuel to fire. Gradually everything came to normalcy and peace was restored between the two. But recently with the Abhi Ash wedding their war was reactivated. Shatrughan was upset with the Big B as he did not invite Shatrughan for the wedding and went on to send a box of sweets to Shatrughan Sinha's house without a phone call or even a message. Shatrughan was furious and sent the box back to Amitabh's house.
Aamir Khan and Salman Khan
Two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood starred in one of the most loved comedies Andaz Apna Apna. The film has always been known to be a cult in the comedy genre. Many a Bollywood fans had wished to see the duo doing another hit together. But unfortunately after the hit comedy Aamir refused to work with Salman and accused him of being unprofessional. Sighting this even Salman made it a point not to work with Aamir again.
But in the recent past the two big Khans - Aamir and Shah Rukh were invited to the third mighty Khan's (Salman) place for some biryani. The three got together and even discussed some plans for a new film. Well the plans don't seem to have worked out but at least it seems like Salman and Aamir have patched up for good.
Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla
Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, the superhit pair of films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Hum Hai Raahi Pyaar Ke, Love Love Love, Ishq and some more films went their different ways after their famous tiff on the sets of their film Ishq. Aamir made a joke when Juhi wasn't in the mood, and sharp words were exchanged.
Both of them being notoriously sensitive, that was it for the relationship, and they no longer spoke except in business situations. But the duo patched up with Aamir attending Juhi's father's funeral some years back.
Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu
Cat fights are quite common in Bollywood. But this one went a bit too far. Kareena and Bipasha first met on the sets of Abbas Mustan's film Ajnabee but the two did not get along quite well. During a stint in Switzerland, the two actresses had exchanged harsh words over Kareena's costume designer lending his talents to the Bengali beauty without her consent. This led to some serious cat fights on the sets and the two actresses never came back together.
And now just when everything seemed to be getting back to normal and Kareena and Bipasha starring together in Vishal Bharadwaj's Omkara things turned bad again, not on the sets of the film but on the sets of Karan Johar' show Koffee With Karan. On the show Bipasha went on to comment that Kareena has too many expressions which was assumed to be in retaliation to Kareena's comments on John being expressionless. Well now it seems it's just a wait and watch to see what's coming next from the two Bollywood divas.
Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai
Shah Rukh and Aishwarya first came together as siblings in Josh and then lovers in Mohabattein in the same year. When Shah Rukh began his production for his film Chalte Chalte, his first choice was none other than Aishwarya Rai. Aishwarya who was then dating Salman Khan began shooting for Shah Rukh's film. But one fine day the possessive Salman came on the sets of the film and went on a rampage breaking everything in sight. An obliviously upset Shah Rukh couldn't stand this drama and quickly replaced Ash with Rani and refused to work with Ash again. Also this created a rift between good friends Shah Rukh and Salman. While SRK and Salman patched up at Farah Khan's wedding, the lethal combination of SRK and Aishwarya haven't crossed their paths yet.
Amitabh Bachchan - Shah Rukh Khan - Akshay Kumar
A lot has been said over the Amitabh and Shah Rukh Khan war. The two leading actors of Bollywood are said to be at loggerheads and have known to ignore each other at major Bollywood events. But recently there were new developments not with SRK but a new war between Amitabh and Akshay Kumar. The war started when Akshay Kuamr and Bhushan Kumar bought the rights of the original Malayalam film Manchitrathazu from K.S Rama Rao and remade it as Bhool Bhullaiyaa. Reportedly writer Ahsan was already in talks with the producer K.S Rmam Rao to remake the film in Hindi with Amitabh Bachchan but at the last moment Bhushan Kumar gave a whopping 3.5 crore and bought the rights for the film. All this took place when Amitabh Bachchan was ill in hospital. Amitabh was furious and decided never to work with Akshay Kumar again and so when he was approached to be a part of Akshay Kumar starrer Namastey London he flatly refused.
