Who in your opinion is or was the most underrated actor of his time? Which actor did not get the recognition that you feel they deserved?

Dharmendra

In my opinion he is the most handsome actor Hindi film industry have ever produced but sheer unlucky. When he started he had competition with Dev Anand, Rajendra Kumar and the likes. Then came Rajesh Khanna and Mr.Bachchan. Dharmendra was hardly considered for any meaty role. He was very good in serious as well as comic roles esp. in Satyakam and Chupke-chupke. The 80s saw him in his worst doing buffoonery.

funny thing is i created this topic with dharmendra in mind. i think he is a great actor like you said who could pull off every role with so much ease...comedy, action, drama etc.

i did watch satyakaam and it was great. watching the movie i got so frustrated with his character not wanting to do anything against his principles. and that is what i realized makes a great actor..........someone who can evoke such emotions in you.

Jeetendra!!!! Great acting, and dancing skills...but never received an award nor the recognition that he deserved!
Dharmendra---has given the industry some of the best characters---his characters in Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Anpardh (just to name a few)
Sanjeev Kumar--has also gotten his recognition...people still remember him..it's just that he died early that's why people think he has gotten his due...but I think he is one of the greatest actors!

Mithun Chakravarthy...he is a national award winner...was wasted in films of Disco Dancer variety...

gave a stunning performance in Guru recently...should win an award for that!

I still remember him in Mrigya. But I guess he was in wrong era 😉. At least he was married to Sri devi for 8 months.😆

Salman Khan

I think its Salman Khan because he never got the best actor award even though some of his movies were superhit. I think he should have got in maine pyar kiya or hum aapke hai kaun or hum dl de chuke sanam.
