The yesteryear actress had her reasons for turning down OSO cameo

One question doing the rounds since Om Shanti Om released and audiences caught the Dewaangi song featuring 31 Bollywood stars, is why Farah Khan kept Hema Malini out from the song, considering Deepika Padukone had been modelled on Hema.

A source reveals, "Actually, Farah wanted Hemaji to perform in that song, but she was reluctant because Bobby Deol and Dharmendra were making an appearance in it."

Casting coup

If Farah were to convince Hema, it would've been a casting coup because Bobby and Hema have never made any public appearance together till date. "Farah wanted Esha to be a part of the song, but the idea fell through," says our source.

"It seems Hemaji was a bit uncomfortable dancing with Dharamji and Bobby in the same frame," says source.

When contacted Farah Khan says, "What rubbish! Bobby himself called Hemaji and they spoke about the song. I wanted Hemaji to be a part of the song, but I think she was travelling somewhere abroad and we couldn't adjust the date with her or Esha.

I had to coordinate dates with 30 stars, which was a bit difficult. Frankly speaking, it's my dream to choreograph Hemaji once in my career." It seems that even Shah Rukh Khan wanted Hema Malini in the film. "Shah Rukh respects Hemaji a lot.

His association with her goes back to his Dil Aashna Hai days. Shah Rukh signed his first film with her, in her directorial debut. He too called her to request her to be a part of the shoot. She wanted to, but somehow it didn't work out," says Farah.

Many directors and producers are trying their best to get Hema and Dharmendra back together on screen. In fact, Pritish Nandy had also announced that they'd be working together in Mahesh Manjrekar's film after 25 years.

That project is on hold as well. "It's not about me wanting to work with Dharamji, it has to be both ways. Dharamji needs to like the role also. But I also feel that the mystery, which has been there for so long, should remain a mystery. People haven't seen us for 25 years and still consider us a romantic couple. If we come together, the film has to be outstanding," explains Hema Malini.

this media created a lot of fuss i personally dont think hema wud do like tat n even though farah ve cleared noe i personally think enuf of om shanti om v shd move fwd 2 other movies like:- goal, aja nachle, welcome, my fav movie taare zameen par, halla bol, jodha akbar etc etc.....

She might be busy agar aisa hota to Dharam paji ko pata chalta he would said bobby putr tu bahr ja meri basanti aane wali hai....

dharmendra and bobby didnt even shoot 2gether...bobby came with preity lolll so why wud she be reluctant to shoot with dharmendra??
