As for the whole issue abt Hrithik's father always coming to his rescue: I just dont see the logic behind it. YAsh Chopra happens to be the most successful director in India and yet Uday CHopra is not a sueprstar. A director can extract a god perforamce only if the actor has the skills in the first place.... Besides, if were to use the same logic, then Mani RAtnam has alwys managed to rescue Abhishek as well....it was Mani who proved to every1 tht Abhi could act with Yuva and after all teh flak tht Abhi got during D2, it was MAni who saved him with Guru. In other words ,Abhi clicks only with MAni Ratnam....

And hrithik's best performances have NOT come with his dad (barring KMG).....pls go watch FIza, k3g, MIssion Kashmir, Lakshya (and even NTJNH actually) again. And hrithik's most commercially successful movie came with YAshraj (D2) !

As for looks....it's not hrithik's fault he's good-looking......if looks mattered so much then all models would be top actors. And Hrithik has worked hard to look good.....he used to be a stick before; he had to build the muscle from scratch. And if I'm paying so much money then I might as well see some1 visually appealing.....if I want to see the 'boy next door' then I'd just go next door not to the theatre!

It's just sad that people hate Hrithik caz he is good looking, and want to give all the credits to his good looks as if he is just sitting on couch doing nothing

After reading all 6 pages,I am starting to feel that Hrithik is highly overrated....I'm not claiming that Abhishek is a better actor,but Hrithik is most definitely overrated....

Someone said Hrithik has won awards,well,awards are NOT the yarstick,because almost all Indian awards are a farce...Hrithik winning the best actor award for Dhoom 2 over a barrage of better performances proves my point!

As far as remuneration goes,in this era,most stars are being paid obscene amounts of money..Akshay Kumar,Salman Khan etcetera....Even Ranbir Kapoor would be charging astronomical amounts three years down the line,so Hrithik's being paid handsomely has got more to do with the current trend !!

Hrithik is most certainly not in the same league as Salman Khan or SRK or Aamir in terms of star power...Hrithik's hits have been Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai,Koi Mil Gaya,Krrish and Dhoom 2...3 out of these four films were buttressed by special effects,graphics and big budgets(mainly courtesy his dad who pooled in millions for KMG and Krrish) ...SRK can carry a avant-garde non-commercial film like Chak De India on his shoulders,Salman's Partner was a blockbuster DESPITE it being a very run-of-the-mill film sans ANY extra money spent on accentuations,Aamir espouses non-conformist films aka Rang De Basanti ....Hrithik has done limited work(he's just what 13 films old),and has enjoyed limited success....If he can sustain the success of Dhoom 2 for years to come,then he can be compared with SRK and Salman....PERIOD!

I don't believe Hrithik is overrated. He deserves all the praise he gets as he's reached a pretty decent level in 7 years. SRK, Salman, Aamir did not reach the same level as him 7 years down their career span. Obviously he's still a student and has to keep up the good work but he's taking the right approach. Yes its early to label him as the best actor out there but if he keeps up the good work, he can achieve that title in the future.

Regarding the fees he charges, Vivek, Shahid, Abhishek have been in the industry for more then 3 years and still dont earn a lot, so how do you know Ranbir will earn a high fee 3 years down the lane. Salman, Akshay, SRK, Aamir - all senior and well established actors are the only ones charging these 10 crore plus fees and amoung the younger lot ONLY Hrithik seems to be getting paid as much.

And lastly Kaho Na Pyar Hai had no special effects, yet it became a blockbuster. If a movie has special effects and a lot of money spent on it, its harder for it to become a hit as it has to recover the money made in making the movie plus do well. So seems like Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish did that. And I dont think it makes sense to me that people would watch a movie because of graphics and special effects. I mean seriously does the audience care if a director spent millions on special effects or does anyone go to a movie to watch special effects only. And Hrithik did most of the stunts himself in Krrish, there were hardly any special effects. And if as you say Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish had only special effects and no story, then that shows Hrithik's star power again as he managed to make two movies do well without any good storyline.

For me Hrithik is the best among the younger generation but if someone asks me to name the best actor it would be Aamir Khan.

Really??..Let's see....SRK's debut film was Deewana,in 1992...In SRK's initial 8 years..i.e. 1992-1999,he had DDLJ,Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,Darr,Baazigar,Karan Arjun,Dil to Paagal Hai and Pardes...3 blockbusters and 4 superhits....

Salman's in his initial 8 years had Maine Pyaar Kiya,Saajan,Hum Aapke Hai Kaun,Karan Arjun,Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.....Certainly they had more number of hits than Hrithik,who has just had 5(including K3G which would had fared well even without Hrithik)....They definitely achieved more than what Hrithik has accomplished in his 8 years,that too at a time when there were no multiplexes and 1000 print copies of the film

The 10 crores is the Adlabs deal,innit??..Well,he definitely earns alot,but feel it's undeserved....IMHO,Hrithik cannot carry a unconventional film on his own,Jodhaa Akbar is in a way an acid test...If that film works,then I'll agree that Hrithik is as great as his fans make him out to be....As for the Ranbir analogy,Ranbir like Hrithik is launched amidst gargantuan hype...What Vivek and Shahid lacked was hype,a good launch vehicle(Vivek made a rather unorthodox debut,and Shahid's debut film was very workaday)...It's easier for Ranbir whose first film would firmly establish his credentials as an actor and star....Hrithik has an additional luxury which no other actor enjoys...A home production company and director daddy who had enough money to splurge on special effects which enabled him to do films like Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish so early in his career....I agree that the credit for Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai goes solely to Hrithik,but then again,how many newcomers are fortunate to be launched in a commercial potboiler like KHPH....After Hrithik,it is Ranbir who is reaping the perquisites of being a star kid,which makes me say that Ranbir would be drawing alot of money in future

They did,for Krrish...Forgive me,but remove the superhero angle from Krrish,the film would have FLOPPED because there was nothing else in it

Not star power mate,but the visual treat that these two films were,and the highly commercialised themes was what made these films work....Had Krrish released in 2002,when Hrithik was in the nadir of his career with 3 flops,even then the film would have worked....<SHRUGS>

hey./...loved reading this argurement...lots of names involved in it hehhe...

first of all...hrithik roshan....the definition of a beautiful man as srk said, one of the most gud luking actors in india, perfect in luks, a dad-cum-director to support him, movies like Krrish n Dhoom in 2007, Kaho na Pyaar hai as the breakthru which made him be compared to srk, which i srsly dint feel he was upto at that time...anyways...huge fan following, great luks, hit muvies, awards and a happy family....

Abhishek Bachchan.....tall, dark n handsome....conventional indian luks....dad-cum-actor behind him, muvies lkike Yuva, Sarkar and Dhoom to his name...failing miserably in his first years but then proving his talent with some fab movies and making a place for himself in the industry and hearts of millions....

i think....Hrithik and Abhi both are gud luking, though for me hrithik takes away the award for that...i think Hrithik is the nex Star of India, ABhi is the next big Actor of India.....cuz Abhi's acting skills are tremendous....Krrish was NOT a goood muvie apart fromn the effects, but Dhoom2 cudnt have done well without hrithik even...iu think Hrithik won the role in Dhoom2 and was liked better than Abhi...yet Abhi is the better actor....

Its just like someone said, SRK n Aamir....SRK is the bigger star and according to me the greatest actor, but yes he has done some flops in his career...and i think taht makes a person aa better actor, for wat better than to learn from ur own mistakes.....AAmir rarely gave any flops and still ppl dont seem to love him the way they love SRK.....cuz SRK is a ppl's man, the public figure....ppl relate to him thru his straightforwardness and like his humor....he has done shows, danced in weddings, done ads and thats why ppl love him more...he is A PR man...while aamir likes to stay behing the screen...no wonder ppl dun love him the way they love srk...though ofcourse his muvies are awssummm....

Honey.....Salman, SRK and Aamir dint have director dads to give them movies when they werent being given some....they made it into the industry thru their own talent and effort...u can never compaare SRK n Salman to Hrithik cuz they worked soooo hard that it showd and NO ONE can ever take their place.....secondly, i love hrithik but srsly, the awards he has been gven are just not justified...he was given awards for Krrish like for GODS sake....Krrish was just a piece of special effects and jumping about....and btw....u can compare actors like Shahid and John to SRK n Aamir cuz atleast they dint have director dads or actor dads to support them....they worked out on their own and the success any of these actorrs....SRK, Salman, Aamir, John, Shahid have reacched is ONLY THEIR OWN....not thru someone....ABHI and Hrithik both are wat they are due to the high posiitons of their dads in the industry...~~
