Aamir Khan will be closing his blog and launching his website (www.aamirkhan.com ) from Tuesday midnight onwards. Through his new website the actor aims to have personal chats with his fans online. He has promised to be online for a live chat between 9 – 10 pm IST on Wednesday, 10 October.
Informing about his personal website, Aamir posting his last update on his blog states, "It is probably the first of its kind (I think) and was developed on specific requirements given by me. This will be a 24/7 live chat. Anyone wanting to be part of it can just jump in. Whenever I plan to come on live on to the chat I will give every one prior notice…, or I might not. This means that if I have 10 minutes free I can log on and if I see an interesting chat taking place then I can just join in. Also this chat will have two rooms. One is the general chat room where everyone will be there and the other my personal room. So I can pick anyone from the general chat room into my personal room to have a one on one. Every one can watch us chat while they continue in the general room but you can't come in. You come in only if I click on one of you, and leave when I want to invite someone else. Got it? Well once you see it on the site you'll get the picture. Importantly if I chat from a computer which has a camera then you'll see me live as I type. I hope this puts an end to speculations about whether it is really 'me'."
Aamir is anxious to know the response to his directorial debut promos so to know his fans' reactions he plans to come online again on 13th Oct from 8pm to 9pm IST. He states in this regard, "By now I'll be dying with anxiety to hear what you'll think of the curtain raiser."
He also clarifies that within the given time he has not been able to work on other features yet on his website. But he promises that he will keep adding them as he goes along. Aamir candidly admits that, he had absolutely no time to work on the design front of the website so presently it will appear extremely plain and simple, no frills.
Aamir had launched his blog, with the release of his produced Lagaan's DVD launch a few months back. The blog's popularity had shot up in quick time with the reclusive actor regularly dropping in, updating it with what was happening in his professional and sometimes, personal life. He would make it a point to reply back to as many fans' queries he could on his blog. Though his blog will be shutting down, he will be shifting its entire stuff (chats) to the archives section of his website for carrying these conversations further.
