Some of Salman's friends from Bollywood react to the verdict on the star.
Sanjay Chhel
I am shocked to hear the verdict! He is a very dear friend and when something happens to a dear one, your logic goes for a toss. I have full faith in the judicial system. All I know is he is a very good guy and I believe that people like Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan are paying a heavy price of being a celebrity.
Bosco-Ceaser
We feel that they are just making use of his name, status and dragging the case along. It is not such a big a thing that he should be punished so severely. I don't know how they projected their case but what he's going through is terrible!
Wajid (from the music duo Sajid-Wajid)
When you have a celebrity status you have to face the brunt of being one. Surely, there is no other reason. It is not even proven! It's not fair at all... We all were watching the news in the morning and when I heard that he is been given 5 years imprisonment it was simply shocking! He is family for us and definitely I will be going to see him and his family.
Vikram Phadnis
Salman and I go back a long way. He is very close to me… he is family. I consider him my elder brother and I don't want to say anything. I don't even think I can get into any comments on this.
Sophie Choudhary
We all are with him and I'm sure he will get some relief from the Higher Court. He is not only a wonderful actor but also a wonderful human being. We all are praying that he should be set free.
Renuka Shahane
Nobody would be happy that Salman is in trouble as he is very wonderful actor. The news is very distressing but at the same time law should be equal for all. I have worked with Salman in two films Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Dil Ne Jisse... and in both the films he was a very supportive co-actor. During Hum Aapke... I was a newcomer but still he was very warm and down to earth. I'm just praying for him.
Aman Verma
I think the Judiciary of our country should be looked upon very seriously as they are only catching hold of the stars. Salman has not killed that Chinkara as he was only present and just because he is a star so by hook or crook they want to get hold of him. It's not done because in a state like Rajasthan even a common man hunts animals so now where's the judiciary? It's unfair and our system should be revised so proper justice is also given to stars.
