Abhishek's Mehbooba Mehbooba steps chopped off
Abhishek Bachchan's dance steps in the Mehbooba Mehbooba number from Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag have been scrapped from the movie. He had a small appearance in the song with Urmila Mantondkar, which was performed by Jalal Aga in the original Sholay.
Abhishek's steps were chopped off when the song was released but when we spoke to Ram Gopal Varma he denied that Abhishek was ever part of the song. "Abhishek was never in my film. This is all a rumour. I don't know where all these stories have come from."
But a source from the film contradicts this statement. "There was a surprise item in which both the Bachchans were together. The song was shot in two parts - one with Amitabh and another with Abhishek but a separate day was kept when both Bachchans had a combined shoot. When Abhishek was dancing, Amitabh even had a discussion with choreographer Ganesh Hegde and suggested some changes. It was a last minute decision of Ramu and Ganesh and hence it is not in the promos."
The song was picturised at ND Studio in Karjat. The original dance number of Helen from Ramesh Sippy's Sholay did not have Gabbar Singh dancing but this will change in RGV Ki Aag.
