Producer Himanshu Joshi of Bhoomi Shree Pictures has issued a legal notice to Yashraj Films over the title ' Laga Chunri Mein Daag- A Journey of a Woman', as he claims that the title was already registered in his name and it was illegal on the part of the reputed filmmaker to use that name. Yashraj Films' Laga Chunri… has in its cast big stars like Rani Mukherjee, Konkona Sen , Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and the shooting for the film has been going on for a while now. On the other hand, Bhoomi Shree Pictures' film is yet to go on the floors, though the director Sripati Mishra claims that they are planning to shoot shortly.
Sripati Mishra further adds, ' Just because Yashraj is a big banner, they can not do this to us. We have already recorded our songs with Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Richa Sharma. Our story is about three sisters and we have almost finalized the casting. However, YRF has offered us Rs 1 lakh to give the title to them. But we have refused. The only difference in our titles is that they have added a tagline, 'the journey of a woman', to it. We are ready to fight a legal battle and will not give away the title so easily. We have sent them a legal notice.'
However, Yashraj Films has denied receipt of any such notice from the Bhoomi Shree Pictures regarding the name of their forthcoming film. Though, they admitted about a public notice in some trade magazine concerning the title. The main argument from Yashraj side is that the two names are not the same and their name is different from Bhoomi's as it included the words ' A Journey of a woman' and has been approved by the concerned authorities.
Seems, even after ' Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' bombed at the box office, bad luck is not leaving Yashraj alone!
