Even though he was undergoing adversity in his personal life because of his court case, the actor did not let his troubles come in the way of the film's shoot. A comic caper, Dhamaal is about four friends — detective Roy (Riteish Deshmukh), the idiotic Manav (Javed Jafferey), the dim-witted Adi (Arshad Warsi) and the father-fearing Boman Contractor (Aashish Chowdhury).
