Apparently, Sanjay Gupta has got used to the habit of legal notices being slapped on him. After a legal notice from slain gangster Maya Dolas's mother during the release of Shootout at Lokhandwala, Sanjay Gupta has got into another legal wrangle. This time, child- artiste Ehsaas Channa's mother Kulbeer Channa has sent a legal notice to Gupta. Ehsaas Channa is the little girl who has played the role of a boy in several ad films and Hindi movies like Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and the recent My Friend Ganesha.

The reason for the legal notice is the upcoming movie named Pankh from Sanjay Gupta's White Feather Art House Films.

According to the buzz in the industry, the film is based on the true story of child actor Ehsaas Channa who is playing the role of boy in films, although she is a little girl. The story of the film revolves around a girl child who actually starts believing that she is a boy after she plays several on-screen roles as a boy. The concept of the film is based on gender confusion in the child's mind and how the film industry and the child's mother are responsible for creating this confusion in the child's mind.

"The film portrays that the mother is responsible for the girl playing a boy in order to get work in Bollywood. Kulbeer Channa, mother of Ahsaas filed a legal notice as she believed that Sanjay's film is based on her and her daughter's life," said our source.

Initially, Kulbeer Channa refused to talk about the notice. But when we probed further, she said, "I came to know about the subject of the film through the media. But, when I spoke to Sanjayji, he told me that the plot has been convoluted by the media. There is only confusion about the subject."

Sanjay Gupta said, "Yes. Ehsaas's mother had sent me a legal notice. But, I have spoken to her and every thing has been cleared out."

"Everyone thinks that Pankh is based on Ehsaas's life. But, it has nothing to do with the little girl. Moreover, the director has been working on the subject for the past five years," he adds.

Pankh stars Bipasha Basu and Lillete Dubey, and is directed by Sudipto Chattopadhaya.
