John-Bipasha spotted together!

There may be a huge controversy on whether Bipasha and John are still together, but here's a little bit of news that we just couldn't resist putting up. Even while the rest of the world is debating the topic, Bipasha and John were spotted quietly sitting together at a suburban eatery name Juice as if none of the controversy had ever happened. Even while those sitting around cast inquisitive glances towards them, wondering what all those rumours were all about. Confused? We'll just let Bips and John clarify on this, shall we?

What about all that print space talking about the supposed split we wonder. Or has the bonding reached such a stage that they're getting back together? Now that would certainly be cause to celebrate, considering the goodwill these two share and their long courtship period. Of course, we also wonder what a certain Mr Khan has to say about all this?

There may be a huge controversy on Bipasha Basu and John Abraham's current relationship status. Even while the rest of the world was speculating and debating whether John and Bips are together or not, they were spotted sitting together at a suburban eatery as if he controversy never happened. Those sitting around cast inquisitive glances in their direction, but the duo was not perturbed. What about the supposed split? Or has the bonding reached a stage they're getting back together? Now that would certainly be a reason to celebrate, considering the goodwill these two shares.

"John & I don't have to do ads together " - Bipasha

Bipasha Basu isn't enjoying the way her relationship with John Abraham is being linked to her absence in the new shampoo ad for the brand they endorse.

"People can say what they like. They do that anyway, no matter what explanations we give. John and I are not answerable to anyone."

Regarding the speculation about John doing the shampoo ad with another model, Bipasha sighs, "When we signed the contract for the shampoo we didn't even know we'd be doing any of their ads together."

Bipasha and John signed their contracts separately. "And my association with that brand of shampoo continues. At this point of time John and I are advertising different brands of shampoo. So the question of me being replaced in the new ad doesn't arise. People can continue to speculate as much as they like. It doesn't bother me."

All the loose talk about the status of her relationship with John has begun to annoy Bipasha. "Let them say what they like. My life is mine alone. I'm answerable only to myself, my family and my close friends. Beyond that, does it really matter? What I'm doing in my personal life shouldn't be of any consequence to anyone except me. I mean no harm to anyone. So why harm me with such endless speculation?"

The gossip mongers have been going to town with the now-off-now-on observations. Says Bipasha. "Precious news space shouldn't be wasted on such trivia. There's so much more worth writing about. From now I won't discuss my private life in print."

Bipasha Basu and John Abraham have been going through a rough patch in their relationship, there have been various problems cropping up between the two. Bipasha was earlier linked to ex-fame Dino, then she was spotted dating Saif Ali Khan quite a few times and finally there was the alleged kiss with Portugal soccer star Cristiano . All this has definitely taken a toll on the couple, and while some claim that their relationship is over others claim that the couple are still trying to work it out. However their brand image professionally has already started to tumble and this was clearly evident when Bipasha was replaced with another female model opposite John in a shampoo commercial recently.

John and Bips have a brand name to maintain even professionally, in fact earlier too whenever the couple has had problems they have never admitted to them publicly as they were afraid that their professional image together would get affected. Bips and John have been seen together in films and endorsing several products too on-screen due to their real life chemistry. But recently one of their endorsement companies, Clinic All clear shampoo thought it would be best for the two stars to shoot separate commercials as currently their chemistry on-screen would look forced. John Abraham recently shot for the Clinic All Clear Men's shampoo ad with another female model. Bips too has shot a separate ad campaign without John for the same brand. A spokesperson for the company tried to brush it off saying that John was shooting for the commercial without Bips as it was a men's shampoo endorsement, but later he shouldered the responsibility on to the creative head when he was questioned as to why another female model was seen opposite John in the ad for the men's shampoo.

The creative head of the ad on the other hand refused to answer the question and made no comment as to why Bips was replaced with a new female model opposite John. Well a source claims "They don't want to portray forced chemistry between John and Bips and hence the image conscious company decided it would be better for the stars to shoot separate ad campaigns." Meanwhile though it seems Bips and John may once again be trying to work out their relationship as they were spotted together at a restaurant. John has recently returned from his shoot in Pondicherry and the two were seen talking quietly despite the curious gazes. So is it a reconciliation for the two? Lets' wait and watch.

Food courting?

For a long time now, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have shared food for thought, literally speaking. Hot, home-cooked khana is delivered to John from Bipasha's house reasonably regularly. And this arrangement still continues, despite speculations about the strained relationship between the two today and recent news of their break-up.

Both Bipasha Basu and John Abraham are busy stars today and their professional commitment has been keeping the two of them away from each other for some time. But adds a source, "Not for long, very soon the two will be shooting a love song for their forthcoming film."

John Abraham who has just returned from the outdoor shooting of his film Aashayein has already visited Bipasha and is happily eating the food she sends for him.

As for the two of them going solo in their ads, a source close to the actress informs that the ad that is currently on air is for men's shampoo, therefore Bipasha is not needed in the commercial. Bipasha too has shot an ad of the same shampoo, is meant for women. Bipasha and John have also renewed their contract with the same company.

Bipasha Basu, who was supposed to do a solo item number in Ajay Devgan's secretary-turned-producer Kumar Mangat's production No Smoking (directed by Anurag Kashyap), will now gyrate with John Abraham.

Also, contrary to reports, Saif Ali Khan is not a part of the film.

Mangat confirms, "We have a very happening item number planned with John and Bipasha, and no, Saif is not in the film."

Sizzling chemistry

The song will be shot in Film City from July 28, and Mangat has erected a lavish set for the same. Omkara director Vishal Bhardwaj has penned the lyrics and Ganesh Acharya will direct the choreography.

Fourth outing

Incidentally, this will be the fourth time John and Bipasha will share screen space together after Pooja Bhatt's Jism, Vikram Bhatt's Aetbaar and Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming film Goal.

Says a source from the No Smoking unit, "I'm sure we won't have problems shooting the song, but yes, there are bound to be huge expectations. Audiences will definitely want to witness sizzling chemistry between the sexy couple."

Mangat endorses, "I don't believe what is being written about John and Bipasha. I'm sure they will be comfortable with each other. I'm looking forward to the shoot."

As for why Saif is not a part of No Smoking, Mangat says he was never approached for it. "I'm talking to Saif for another film. I'm making many films now so when people hear something, they make assumptions and publish stories without verifying them," he says.

"Also, Bipasha was never meant to do the No Smoking song solo. It was Vishal's idea to cast her (Bips played Billo Chamanbahar in Omkara), and we told her she would be dancing with John. Trust me, she did not hesitate before saying yes."

Too early

Coming back to the song, Mangat refuses to divulge what leads John to gyrate with Bipasha despite being married to Ayesha Takia in the film.

Laughs Mangat, "It's too early to reveal the situation that leads to this number and I don't want to give away the lyrics either. All I will say is that it's a very long song and will be the highlight of the film. It will air from August 15."

No Smoking also has a sensual number by model Jesse Randhawa, and also stars Ranvir Shorey and Paresh Rawal.
