"I am a disco dancer" rings out in Ladakh on film shoot ... It seems that Bollywood actors are having a gala time in the freezing temperature in Ladakh.
Mithun Chakraborty turned 53 on Monday, but the actor couldn't celebrate his birthday with his family, because he was shooting in Ladakh for Samir Karnik's film Mera Bharat Mahan. The film also stars Salman Khan, Dino Morea and Vatsal Seth.
It was Salman Khan who thought of giving Mithun-da a birthday surprise and with unit members present and 'Happy Birthday' sung, he suddenly broke into 'I am a disco dancer', Mithun's iconic hit from the 80s film Disco Dancer. "It surprised and delighted all of us, with so much style did Sallubhai celebrate Mithunda's birthday," says one of the unit member from MBM. The unit is shooting one of the film's crucial scenes in Ladakh and they couldn't afford to let Mithun go back to Mumbai and be with family. "When Samir reminded Salman that they needed to wish Mithunda for his birthday, Salman immediately thought of doing something funny," says our source.
Mithun had no idea Salman and Dino Morea even knew it was his birthday, much less break into a jig at the middle of the shot. "They were in the middle of shooting a scene, and suddenly Salman started dancing and Dino also joined in. Young actor Vatsal was singing the chorus along with Samir Karnik. Mithun was taken aback when they started. After they sang and danced, they ran over to Mithun and wished him," says our source.
When we contacted Mithun, who was still shooting in Ladakh, he said he was surprised and delighted with Salman's dhamaal on the sets. "I never celebrate my birthday and didn't even mention it to anyone. But I was happy to see that Salman loves me so much that he danced and everyone in the unit joined him. Salman is like my son and I have always loved him as a human being. At times he is naughty, but then even my son gets naughty at times. I scold Salman the way I scold Mimmoh. I am blessed as an actor that they all respect me and love me so much," says Mithun
