Flop fever at the box office |
Last Friday saw the release of as many as 6 films, all small budget -- and all stumbling at the box office: Choreographer turned director Ganesh Acharya's Swami failed to make its mark despite a limited number of cinemas.
Emraan Hashmi magic failed with The Train, collections of which ranged between 6-30%, even on day one.
Dharm, a film based in Varanasi, did not draw enough audience even at a theatre there, causing the very first show to be cancelled!
Trademark Ramsay horror film Ghutan failed badly.
MP3: Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar drew teenagers in cities like Lucknow and Indore, but not enough to sustain the film.
In the end, Red Swastik, with ample titillation, may just about emerge the best of the lot, catering to the lusty crowds. Note: Films are ranked according to their release dates. The thumbs ups and downs reflect rediff's views.
