Though it isn't official yet, plans to create a sequel to Farhan Akhtar's Don are fast concretising. While other members of the cast and the screenplay are being finalised, the lead actors will be the same.

Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra will be doing an encore of their roles from Farhan's Don. However stories that Sushmita Sen has been approached for Don 2 are being dismissed as "baseless, premature and untrue."

A source says, "This time Farhan will be doing what no other filmmaker from any part of the world has done. He'll conceive and execute a sequel to a remake. He has the daunting task of getting into the original screenwriter's [Javed Akhtar] head to imagine where the plot might have been taken if it were to be carried further."

The sequel is expected to be much more lavish, spectacular and gorged with effects. The source adds, "When Don came last year Dhoom hadn't happened. Now Farhan will have to match the standards set by Dhoom and Krissh. There are also the dubbed Hollywood movies such as Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3. The budget and the locations for Don 2 will be far more spectacular than the first part."

Dates for Shah Rukh and Priyanka have already been finalised for early next year.

Wooo i'm so happy they are making the sequel, it deserves to be made as Don 2006 was awesome. Its cool that Priyanka is still in it but i hope they add some a fresh female too.

i hope don 2 have some story not like don 1!

Contrary to reports which have been making the rounds, the sequel to Farhan Akhtar's Don, will have the same lead pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. Plans to make the sequel are fast falling in place. While the other members of the cast and the screenplay are being finalized, it seems that the lead pair is not going to be touched.

That quashes all reports which earlier stated that Priyanka was out and Sushmita Sen would be playing the lead opposite SRK. The sequel is expected to be more lavish and spectacular than the remake. Farhan will try to better the Dhoom and Krish magic, which happened after Don. So expect something out of the world with Don 2.
