Upen Patel nominated for Bollywood Awards in NYC
Upen Patel has been nominated for the Best Debut award for his role in 36 China Town at the ninth annual Bollywood Movie Awards 2007 to be held in New York next weekend. Pitted against other newcomers, Upen stands stiff competition from Siddharth (Rang De Basanti).

"Yes I have been nominated at the Bollywood Awards and I'm quite excited. It's great to be nominated. I have a soft corner for that role since it was my first release. I'm honoured to be one of the nominees… I do hope I win… please wish me luck," says the ever charming Patel.
Mira Nair will also be felicitated with the 'Pride of India' award at the ceremony which will take place on Saturday, 26 May, 2007 at the Nassau Coliseum, New York.
A long list of Bollywood celebrities are expected to perform including Bipasha Basu, Arjun Rampal, Vivek Oberoi, Urmila Matondkar, Soha Ali Khan, Neha Dhupia, Kangana Ranaut. Also expected to attend are Danny Glover, Mira Nair, Phylicia Rashad of The Cosby Show, Anupam Kher, Kirron Kher, Raj Kumar Hirani, Anuj Saxena, Canadian singer Raghav, Pakistan's top actress and singer Shahida Mini, Caribbean Singer Ricki Ramdehal and Pakistan's popular singer –Waris Beg.
