Do we have a star right after debut in 2025. Crazy. Thought those times are long gone.
Ahan Pandey of all people..who would have thought heard the girl is impressive
Saw it in a 75 % packed theatre overseas and felt like writing a proper review after a long time :
18.07.2025: A Star Is Born
Ahaan Pandey is undeniably a bonafide superstar in the making. Unless the universe throws some bizarre “witchy-wooshy” curveballs his way—and he starts making a string of bad career calls—he’s well on his way to the top. He’s radiating serious Ranbir-Ranveer energy, and if he keeps this momentum going, we might finally have the Gen Z male superstar everyone’s been waiting (and whining) for.
Honestly, it’s about time the 50-something freckled heroes took their final bows as leads. The new Son of Sardar promo? Cringe bordering on tragic. It’s high time we embrace the generational shift—let the veterans graduate gracefully into substantial character roles while the fresh talent takes center stage.
Today’s leading men should be paying close attention—Ahaan’s the real deal. And if that’s not obvious to some, they’re just choosing to live in denial.
As for Aneet Padda, she’s an absolute breath of fresh air. She brings back the charm of early Anushka or Parineeti: natural, endearing, and completely believable on screen. That scene where she talks about what makes a song memorable is a personal favorite. I’m genuinely curious to see where she goes from here. Compared to Ahaan, she might lack a bit of that classic Bollywood ‘namak’—but to be fair, her role required her to lean heavily into the sugary-sweet zone, and she nailed it.
The film itself is an emotional ride, filled with drama and moments that hit exactly where they’re meant to. Sure, a few scenes might feel a bit syrupy for the less romantically inclined—but even then, it’s hard to walk away without at least a warm feeling inside.
As for the music—it is not Aashiqui 2 or Ek Villain heights IMO, but it’s still a solid win. Dhun and the title track definitely stood out.
A solid 3.75/5 from me :)
