okay I just watched it
It's not an unwatchable film, meaning it's not something that i couldn't tolerate watching, it's a very simple story with nothing ground breaking. And i actually thought the second half was quite decent with the more serious scenes with the families.
But it is a boring film, and not something I would be watching again
Yes ibrahim and khushi need to do a lot of improving, on their dialogue delivery, their expressions. They both look good together though.
A big issue was this dubbing they did on khushi and ibrahims voices, why did they do that? It seems like the other actors didn't have dubbing, but they did it on the two main leads, it made their dialogues sound fake. There were times where khushi's voice wasn't dubbed and it sounded natural, but ibrahims voice was dubbed throughout the film, and it just did not sound authentic. Also khushi needs to strengthen her voice, her voice gets a bit weak and shakey which is distracting
But there are some positives, khushi's intense confrontation scene with suniel and mahima was good, those scenes are strongest in the film. I thought khushis acting was decent in those scenes. Also the scenes ibrahim has with jugal and dia were nice. So it's the scenes with the family which are good, the scenes at college with khushi's friends are superficial and just don't work well
The direction and script are bland, the director is shauna gatuam, this is her first movie and I don't think she should direct again as she brings nothing new, exciting or vibrant to the film.
Overall, i thought the film was going to be alot worse looking at the reviews etc, but I managed to get through it, and honestly its not dreadful, it's not a great film either. But I have seen movies on netflix that are similar, so it's actually a good fit for an OTT film, it would not have worked at all as a theatrical release, and I don't think they made it with the intention to be released theatrically.
