Yep. That editorializing about fan wars causing the flop was ridiculous.

Vasan himself taking responsibility for the failure of the film is not a problem. He was the captain of the ship. But this part made me roll my eyes and I didn’t bother reading the rest of the interview.

Does that responsibility change your process of writing and directing?

I don’t know. I will know after this. But this time, I had to deliver, especially when a superstar like Alia [Bhatt], who could have been on any other film set, has given that time and faith and energy to this, with Karan [Johar] putting in his resources.

It's funny how the director is blamed if a film bombs, but actors are credited if it does well.

Reasons behind Jigra's failure:

1-Movie is niche.

2- Vasan failed the film

3- Deepika fans caused negativity.

The director and the rest of the crew can be proud of this movie as the movie didn’t fail because the movie is bad. Many movies have failed even if the movie is good and the opposite also happened. There is no point in blaming anyone for this.

Kjo should have promoted (released widely) this movie in Kerala better, the movie would have gotten the recognition it deserved much better there.

What’s new? Bombay Velvet, Shamshera drown without a trace- the directors,co actors and their dogs issue apology letters to the KJo pet Ranbir for not giving him a blockbuster. Vasan is just following the Dharma rule book. I bet they know about it before signing up.

Superstar alia n her daddy can't accept that her movie is a big flopThis happens when ur success isn't organic because u haven't struggled n faced difficulties n failures n rise from that.
