I'm sorry but this is not true. She held her own against Hrithik in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. People say he made that movie and act like she did nothing for the film's success. If the chemistry was wrong, the heroine underacted or overacted (like a certain Bebo who was fired from the film), or was just there like a limp noodle, the whole film would fall apart.

The fact that she didn't won the Best Debut at Filmfare is only because the Kapoor name was valued more (at some other award shows though, she did win Best Debut thankfully).

The very next year she achieved an astounding success with Gadar. Her Sakina is iconic and provides the heart of the film. If we don't believe her, we don't believe in Tara Singh's love for her or thus his motivation in the whole film.

Not only did she get a Best Actress nomination but she even won a Special Jury Prize by Filmfare. That means that although they didn't award her the main award, they felt her performance was one that still deserved credit so they came up with an entirely new award just for her.

The rumors I've heard is that because Gadar was such a record-breaking success, Filmfare did plan on awarding Amisha the Best Actress award. However, because one of the producers favored Kajol (same reason she won for Fanaa and MNIK), this was put a stop to. As consolation for not giving Amisha the main award, they gave her the special Filmfare award because they knew it would look ridiculous and question the integrity of Filmfare if she wasn't awarded for Gadar.

Finally she got another Best Actress nomination for Humraaz. Best selling soundtrack of 2002 and one of the few films to be a hit in Bollywood's most infamous year where most everything flopped. Now getting a sequel because of its popularity.

Maddock films will benefit the most. The ROI is going to be massive. They are trying to establish themselves in the market, might even get top stars on board for their future films.

I too am speaking of the lead cast also if the lead cast did not perform in first film, it would not be a success and had it not been a success it would not lead to a second film that is not a major blockbuster of all time

All actors benefited from Stree. Hence Stree 2 was made. It is such a huge hit that certain fans of a cameo plus role attribute the entire success to that actor and are hell bent on it as if their life depends on it. The movie works because every role clicked in place including the cameo performance
