Shah Rukh Khan intervening to resolve the India-Qatar naval veterans' standoff isn't the first instance of Bollywood helping India not only in its own but also global diplomatic crises.

Just a month ago, when Pakistan and Iran faced a standoff, India sent Saif Ali Khan to defuse the situation. India also resolved the 2017 US-North Korea nuclear crisis through Fardeen Khan, the Taiwan Strait crisis (1995) through Juhi Chawla and the US-Russia Cold War through Rahul Roy.

One remarkable moment was British India sending Prithviraj Kapoor to make Japan surrender in 1945. Despite facing two nuclear attacks, Japan wasn't ready to surrender. To prevent further loss of lives, Lord Wavell requested Prithviraj Kapoor to intervene, and the rest is history.

Bollywood is called India's soft power for a reason.
