Brahmastra came less than two years ago. It’s amazing how much Bollywood’s verdict game has changed in such a short time. Like very very short time. Pathan changed the landscape and then corporate booking becoming a topic of discussion changed that landscape even further.

As for the question, I think it still would have been declared a success in the initial days because that’s how Kjo’s marketing rolls. But the media and analysts would have turned on it a lot quicker. With Brahmastra it wasn’t until Dharma walked away from part2 that things became too hard to deny. Before that a lot of the analysts were doubling down on their hit or even super hit verdicts despite the public/social media questioning things.

Box office India and trade would never give flop or disaster verdict for an Alia or Dharma movie.

Karan has learnt how to manage them

That's what I meant... the verdict is, since then, based on worldwide gross collection (more often, at least).

As for Ayan: I find it more important that he left Dharma.

We will see how he handles War 2...

Thank you for Stating this from BOI.

BUDGET nowadays are calculated based on various factors, not just the cost of making.

There are many big hit films whose Reported Budget is more than their HINDI NETT collection.

2 films as example:

1. RRR

2. SAAHO

For Brahmastra also, the reported Hindi Nett collection seems low, but no one is taking the Dubbed version all versions Collection. It got HIT coz overall collection exceed Budget value.

Brahmastra had some scenes shown from its Part 2 also which is coming in future so the Reported Budget had those costs also. If we minus the Dubbed version making cost plus part 2 section than for Brahmastra 1st part the collection is Bang on to call it a HIT Film.
