The issue is prime had streaming rights to most movies now with production companies coming up with their own services, they have to sustain competition by renting it out in partnership. Thats why lot of old movies too are on rent.

I’m actually crying that you started this topic, now you have given idea to SRK and Alia fans for the future; they will start including these amounts in their BO collections and pass the films off as a clean hit. I can already see headlines “Alia’s Raazi 2 has earned unthinkable rental fees on Amazon Prime; recovers all budget even before theatrical release”

Film studios learnt their lesson last year and now films are going to have longer and longer theatrical and rental windows. Bollywood should follow suit.

That said, Barbie is out on Max. So shouldn't it be up on Jio?

Jio ka toh naam mat lo

They are the worst. Atleast prime offers the option to rent. Jio botched up ott release of Vikram Vedha. And have done the same with Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

Exactly. I find myself having to rent out buy a lot. Plus viewing time has been cut down drastically. Sometimes, new movies on now TV come about quicker and included in membership.

When we r paying subscription fee why should we rent 😭
